Tom "SlurTheWord" Brokaw is unwatchable.
His speech is so bad he needs subtitles.

Almost like he had a stroke.

4. Tom is trying to act like Tim instead of himself.
Tom needs to go back to be Tom. All-in-all I thought Obama handled himself very well.

6. he was once an honourable man
brocawcaw once did a 'playboy' interview (penthouse?) back in the day when those mags actually were mainsetream news media in terms of respected journalism....anyway brocaw was describing returning from El Salvador during regan era with a seatmate who was from Miami and dressed like a clown in red white and blue stars/stripes spandex- the beastie told brocaw that 'even having compassion for the poor was communist' and brocaw was revulsed. Since then, though, Tom has given in to the last temptation, which is to sell yer soul to the devil for 30 pieces of silver (or several million US dollars) whatever is handiest :) and keep the wife and family in the style of the neighbors...
How our goddam society puts up with the routine tempting of our journalists and bizmen and politicians with multi million dollar payoffs to be dishonest, is the real untold story....amazing. Same society that punishes Janet Jackson for exposing her arse!

7. I Long Gave Up The Sunday Circus
What's the purpose? Anything "newsworthy" (which is rare) can be found pre-released in print or on a blog. Most of these shows have become beltway lovefest with media creatures talking with media creatures about other media creatures in hopes of showing how important a creature they are. The "roundtables" of "conventional widsom" is like listening to a bunch of high schoolers in the cafateria gossiping...and the framing is almost always set before a single question is asked. Be assured whatever Senator Obama has to say, there'll be gotcha soundbites all around as well as a panel of "journalists" all ready to tell us what he really meant as opposed to what he said.

Brokaw is a teevee pretty boy whose time long has passed. He replaced a true journalist in John Chancellor and became the "model" of the smooth-talking, good looking anchor...more concerned with how his hair looked than on anything of substance. He was the story...the rest of the news just sorta was happening around him.

Cheers...

9. That's one reason why, when I used to watch television news, I never watched NBC Nightly New with
Tom Brokaw. (The other reason is that I was a CBS Walter Kronkite and Dan Rather watcher.)

11. Another self-important media douche bag
I'm sure Brokaw expects to be canonized just like Russert. Puke.
