Freepers are giggling over TN church shooting
It was probably a mini-rally for The Obamassiah and they were singing "The sun will come out tomorrow ....". Otherwise, a musical about a poor orphan (Annie) who is befriended by a rich capitalist (Daddy Warbucks), doesn't really fit the UU agenda. Now maybe, if there were a lesbian relationship between Annie and Mommy Warbucks or Annie got pregnant and had to get raise money for an abortion, that would be truly a part of the UU world view.

You don’t know many Unitarians do you? It’s a “progressive” church. They probably had The Vagina Monologues scheduled for the evening service. Prayers up for the injured.

Unitarians are basically Star Wars fans. They believe that there is a god force that all souls are part. Read Emerson’s “The Oversoul” if you want to understand more about Unitarians.

This is why there was a loaded Glock concealed beneath my sport coat this morning, and every morning I am at church. Oh, and an extra clip in case they’re fat or I miss.

Unitarian Universalism is a liberal religion with Jewish-Christian roots. It has no creed. It affirms the worth of human beings, advocates freedom of belief and the search for advancing truth, and tries to provide a warm, open, supportive community for people who believe that ethical living is the supreme witness of religion.”

In other words, a NEW AGE church.

What do you expect? God is NOT in the center of this church. Human beings are.

Also a great time to remind the dumb freep who was saying this happened because "God is not the center of this church" about the shootings in Colorado Springs, at a church which was a conservative as hell. Besides that I would watch the vain comments about God protecting the asses of the holy, that's not what history shows:

If religion and ethics are God-given rules for people to live by, then God is the heart of the church, and the people seeking to together live those rules.

Even though it's a work of fiction, in Sinclair Lewis' Elmer Gantry, the Unitarian minister is set upon by a mob, losing one eye in the assault. Just because he was a Unitarian.

38. Speaking in tongues is a cult building tool, nothing more.

When you stick a bunch of people together and get them to do something embarassing they automatically form a social bond and start filling in the gaps of what the thing's for themselves. Anyone outside doesn't "get it". It's mild brainwashing.

There are many UU churches in old NE towns that outdate many of the "newer" churches. Good enough for our founding fathers, good enough for me. Freepers are just jealous as usual.

23. Free Republic sometimes makes Stormfront (racist messageboard) look downright tame!
I sometimes read right-wing or racist messageboards just out of morbid curiosity or to see what the opposition is saying. It appears that the religious right can give the racists a run for their money when it comes to hate.

24. I don't want to hate anyone, but freepers make it too goddamned easy.
In these freeper's truly fucked-up view of things, I suppose the UU people had it coming because of their beliefs. You know, not enough this, or too much of that.

What makes me so fucking angry is how freepers love to put out yards of window dressing about freedom, patriotism, and everything red-white-and-blue, but in truth, their intolerance is overwhelming and prodigious, and they stand smack in the way of any meaningful progress on any front.

Worse, they have been a force pulling things *backwards*, with all their fear, suspicion and hatred.

May they reap what they sow.

30. Logic is inpenetrable
They deserved to have this happen because they weren't Christian (that's what they really mean when they say G-d wasn't at the center of their world) and were therefore evil--but the man who opened fire on a group of families at a children's play, as it turns out, was "Christian." And they think this makes sense?

btw, I was married in a Unitarian/Universalist church. Very nice place to get married. You write your own ceremony, since they don't have a set, required formulation.

34. Hmm..interesting
Everybody has just witnessed a Neo-nazi republican kill people ,and the person happens to be the same type as that over at freeper.com.

The freeper who killed and attempted to kill was/is a lowlife like those over at freeper.com. Like those who listen to rush limpballs and watch fixed news. They're the party of followers and the special interest.

As said before good riddance to this freeper in Tennessee. The freeper won't be out on the streets anymore.
