Oh wait, my bad, only Muslims engage in terror. White guys engage in normal criminal acts.

*sigh*

1. He shot people in a "religious" setting while children were performing.
Tell me this guy wasn't as savage as any "terrorist".

3. I want you to imagine what the coverage would have been if the guy had been named...
Mohammed Habib Aziz. All hell would have broken loose.

4. My guess is they would've started to bomb Iran yesterday with this as an excuse.

2. It's not terrorism if they are targetting liberals.
It's only terrorism if they are targeting uber-rich businesses. When was the last time a bombing at a planned parenthood clinic got classified as a terrorist act?

And I wish I was being sarcastic.

5. Even if its labeled as domestic terrorism its still terrorism.
The Bouche administration and his goons in control cannot keep us safe. Oh we havent been attack by people from the middle east, but we forget about those from the Midwest.

7. Excuse me, as someone who was in the North Tower on 9/11,
Edited on Mon Jul-28-08 10:09 AM by Beacool
please do not equate one guy going on a shooting spree with the concerted attack that occurred on that day. It's offensive.

8. What? Do you think the word "terrorism" is reserved exclusively for the 9-11 attacks?
Your post makes no sense.

12. What doesn't make sense to you?
This was not a terrorist attack, Oklahoma was, but not this one. This was simply one sick bastard going on a shooting rampage. An unfortunately common event in this country.

13. Terrorism Is A Function Of Motivation
Edited on Mon Jul-28-08 10:22 AM by ProfessorGAC
It is an attack meant to make some specific point. Per the most recent reports, this guy had a political agenda. Therefore, the use of the word is appropriate.

Sorry for your experience, but that doesn't give you the right to arbritrate the use of a word.
The Professor

Edited for a typo.

14. So, now every loony who goes on a shooting spree
is going to have their crime elevated to a "terrorist attack"?

15. Did You Read What I Said?
The newest information indicated this was a politically motivated event. That would make THIS guy a terrorist. No. Not every loony. But this guy? Yes.

Quit being willfully obtuse.

9. ANTHRAX ATTACKS - They happened AFTER 9/11
Edited on Mon Jul-28-08 10:13 AM by Ezlivin
It's amazing that so many Americans have forgotten about these series of attacks that targeted Democrats and that claimed lives.

Every time someone claims that we've been safe or we've not been attacked since 9/11 we need to remind them of the anthrax attacks.

10. NO! DON'T DO IT!!! Do NOT characterize what happened in
Knoxville as a "terrorist" act!!! Doing so eventually makes EVERY crime a terrorist attack and subject to the post-9/11 laws and Acts!

There must remain a distinction between common criminal statute violations and outright acts of terror! Otherwise, EVERYTHING gets labeled as "terrorism"!

11. I agree with that
Just trying to point out the strange way this country has a collective freakout any time someone from the Mideast commits a crime, but they don't care if it's someone else.

On a very, very small scale.
