1. Liberals are such nice people
Only liberals would even worry about it.

You can bet if the shoe were on the other foot, the right would be going after the candidates age as hard as they could.

5. Yup... this also explains how it was impossible for Vanity Fair to do to McCain what they did to the
Obamas.

There just aren't a whole slew of nasty lies about McCain and Cindy... there just aren't.

Says volumes, IMO, about the type of people who subscribe to the different ideologies.

16. The conservative formula for such things: Step 1. Print it.
Step 2. Wait for multiple statements of complete outrage.
Step 3. Pretend you didn't know it was even potentially offensive.
Step 4. "Apologize" that some people managed to take offense.
Step 5. Start a website dedicated to the offending item, and sell it as t-shirts and coffee mugs.

25. no kidding. the cartoon would have obama literally with one foot in his grave.
if obama were even one day older than his opponent.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=6551124&mesg_id=6551124

It even describes what the ads would be like if McCain were the Democratic candidate.

The fact that he's the oldest presidential candidate and in rough shape isn't an unknown.

19. i think it's more of a comment on condition than age
Personally, I'm more concerned that his poor physical condition is compounded by his age, not just his age.

10. Its the same kind of exaggeration of a physical attribute that allows cartoonists to...
.....draw Obama with big ears.

Its not really "fair", but if its okay to draw Obama with the big ears its okay to remind people of McCains age.

11. If it was only the walker that is the problem then we would need to
remember FDR and his braces. But the biggest health problem that I am worried about with Mcgaffe is his memory lapses.

12. Oh my! I sort of like it, although you don't have to be old to need a walker.
Anyone with brain injury leading to mobility and muscle control problems is familiar with the walker.

I wish there was a better way to illustrate McCain's memory loss and inflexibility when it comes to getting into the 21st century.

20. In the realm of political cartoons, everything is fair. However, ...
... every action will draw a reaction, and the cartoonist must be ready to defend himself.

26. FAIR
Don't tell me that after the New Yorker cover that THIS cartoon is over the top. He's old. TOO old to be President. And I don't feel bad saying so. He's been playing fast and loose with the truth lately and that comes down to one of two things... either he's LYING or he's so old he's getting facts confused. Either one disqualifies him. period.
