If you are a little disturbed by Porter Goss being appointed to co-chair
the Office of Congressional Ethics, take a minute and contact Waxman, chair of Oversight and Government Reform.

Here's my weekend thread which has links re Goss's long history of criminality beginning as far back as before the Bay of Pigs. The links in the thread have sources more than the OP -- including lala's piece at #19.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x3682068

And here's the contact form for Mr. Waxman:

http://oversight.house.gov/contact/

I don't know what Nancy is doing appointing one of Poppy's hitmen to the Ethics Office. But you have to know, his appointment will have consequences for Congressional Democrats down the line -- and that's apart from the fact that Porter Goss totes a career of crime against the constitution.

This will probably sink like a stone but, fwiw.

Kinda like if Hitler survived WW2 and went to the middle East to help set up the state of Isreal.

Pelosi would be suicided within 24 hours if she announced "Impeachment is back on the table". Nancy, a benefit to being a made member of the BFEE is that you can commit treason and nobody even notices.

It's not little bush appointing a criminal and Democrats signing off. It's much more active.

Attacking Nancy isn't the important part. The important part is to ask, what the HELL is going on here?

I don't know what she has on her hands. But it's clear that this appointment is inappropriate as well as potentially dangerous as it will leave Congressional Democrats open to blackmail from one of Poppy's longtime insiders -- one who has shown there is NOTHING he will not do. This man is a sociopath and he's being put in an oversight position regarding Congressional ethics?!

More party choices do give us more leverage but, at bottom, this is about us navigating the communications channels until we make an impact with a concern no matter what our registration is.

This reeks of a massive Congressional CYA.

Bush/Cheney's rump Pentagon stovepipe told him what to feed the Committee. Then he got promoted (rubberstamped by Congress) into even greater power-- and Bush lapdog Roberts eventually takes his place, insuring the stone-walling and coverup of the Busholini deeds is kept intact.

The corruption from the top reaches way down.

This has a very deliberate feel of "Gentleman, we must all hang together or we shall most assuredly all hang separately."

"History will not absolve us."

87. I think you are onto it. Why else would she put him in there knowing she's slapping the face
of Democratic Activists who worked to get more Dems in House and Senate? The ones who put Dean in as head of DNC and who are working for Obama?

After watching that snip of her on "The View" I finally concluded based on that "performance" and others where she giggles and preens and in general seems to be what might be unflatteringly called a "bubble head"...that Nancy is a "figurehead" and the true Speaker of the House is either Steney Hoyer or Rahm Emmanuel...or maybe both in tandem working with the Repug "Minority." There is no way that she is the real Speaker...given the way she presents herself. And, if she thinks she is, then she's even worse than her "bubble headed cluelessness" seems to suggest. She's a willing tool and her silliness is all an act.

35. They're all in on the fix...
Isn't it obvious, by now?

We all wonder what is going on and why these horrendous "mistakes" are happening.

They're not mistakes.

The neocon Dems and the neocon Reps are all in on the fix. They're shredding our Constitution
and turning our government into some Fascist playground.

How much more evidence do we need?

How many more times do we need to wonder why the Dems are spineless and making these awful missteps???

It's deliberate. Nancy Pelosi is a grown up. She knows what she's doing.

By now, they're all blackmailed into submission and they've all profited off of the corruption.

Our nation is gone. Slowly, they'll roll out the truth to us--as they make it clear that they can
do anything to us and they WILL---detain us indefinitely, deny our right to a fair trial, wiretap our
phones, read our mail, declare us "enemy combatants" for speaking out against the government or protesting
their crimes, etc. etc.

All of the actors, staging and props are in place behind the curtain.

Now--we enter the phase where the curtain is slowly lifted.

Nice knowing you, America. Welcome to America 2.0.

Perhaps the problem is this - you are thinking of the OTHER Porter Goss, the one who was involved in many secret events from the Bay of Pigs on up.

Is it not possible that Feinstein is thinking of the ethically correct and prestigiously inspired Porter Goss of these renovations to her mansion in the Presidio??
http://tinyurl.com/5dyk5u

I know your bathroom isn't quite up to par when compared to the one listed above, (I mean whose bathroom is?) but must you snipe at this poor man?? His taste is exquisite, and his evil ways are all in the past, the past I tell you.

He is now simply into design, fixtures, and prestige. Not death, fomenting assasination plots, and
punishment akin to torture.

At this point in time, Goss is simply planning on helping Di get on the best dressed list, and he plans on achieving that in a most ethical manner, my dear.

Which is why Di is giving him the tip top post of ethical-ness in all our land!

are just beyond my scope.

You may have a point there.

If that's true, and if Henry Waxman also shares a remodeling fetish and a tolerance for Iran Contra drug running and torture in contravention of US and internatinal law, he'll just ignore us.

66. Everything I have learned about recent politics has come from consuming rather
Delicate grades of hashish, :smoke: combined with the watching of Zoolander 382 times while dining on pomegranates, lemon water and experiencing the uplift of the shiatsu massage.

You probably don't realize the significance of Versace's death yet, do you??

And yes, there are some fears (in some quarters) that Waxman might be in on it. Right up to the floral 'kerchief in his lapel pocket!!

But it's not too late for people like you to make a difference. We just have to help you figure out the proper disguise so that we can get you in on the next party of importance at the next Di Fi mansion of spy gatherings!

Nordstrom's and request the herbal moisturizing spray for legs.

It comes in the same colors as panty hose, and if you get the mildly catnip-ped flavor, your kitties will treat you nicely for a week!

111. You wouldn't want to have to shake hands with someone like that.
I heard that Operation 40 was a hit team.

There's a list somewhere of who the major names are in that group, and they are damned bloody people. From assassinations for Operation Condor, etc. all the way to Iran/Contra and god only knows what else. Felix Rodriguez is the drunk lying on the stage, and he's a personal friend of George H. W. Bush's who was with the CIA people who killed Che Guevara in Bolivia, and then stripped the watch from his dead wrist which was given to him by his father upon graduation. Rodriguez keeps it, and is more than proud to show it to everyone in South Florida.

Barry Seal, murdered with emphasis. The guy with his coat over his face is well known, too.

Porter Goss is a criminal who is lucky to have found friends in government who are criminals, too.

77. Hey Nancy
You know that book of yours that was just released - "Know your Power: A Message to America's Daughters"? We won't be buying a copy. You see, my daughter has integrity. She's a good person and wouldn't sell her soul to get to the top. I know, but you have to understand that when she was growing there was still an illusion of a free country of, by and for the people. So no thanks, Nancy. Oh, and thanks for handing her future over to the neo-cons. You've done such a super job. Hey, did you get to kiss Cheney's ring and everything?

78. NO NO NO Not Him!! Read what Valerie Plame said about Porter Goss
Mr. Goss militarized, secratized, and eviseratedatized the CIA. He was the worst. He took a clandestine organization. and killed half the clan. Well not KILLED them but took their kilts spanked them and drove them away.

Once he was gone she wrote that a lot of the old faces came back only working as independant contractors just in case they had to leave government work quickly again.
B-)

93. Even the "liberal bloggers"
mentioned it but without comment. At some point watching this new Dem Congress either the "fear factor" kicks in...or one just doesn't know what else to say about each new shocking thing coming from our Dems in Congress. One just goes numb...or realizes that it's bigger than anything anyone can do about it. Better just to keep "snipping around the edges" to keep one's sanity or a new media movement going than to dig too deeply.

Our meaning Democrat.

Are our leaders Republicans with a different label who are excellent actors?

He has sailed through a life of crime and now he gets to play ethics?

Are we getting very close to learning that we've been had?

That they are all criminals?

That is the true message here. Thanks, Nancy, for something so blatant that we can all wake up and know who you are?
