I want to know WHAT is going on at these Georgetown Cocktail Parties |
|
Always be weary of powerful people having secret meetings.
We need to know what is being plotted and what is being said at these exclusive Georgetown Cocktail parties. We need to get C-SPAN in to these parties so that people will know what is going on.

1. You're a bit out of date |
|
The Georgetown Cocktail Party died with Pamela Harriman. This so-called "administration" has no connections to Georgetown, and, in case you hadn't noticed, no social life at all. The days of the White House acting as a kind of cultural beacon ended when Fuckface seized office.
Georgetown is just a neighborhood in DC now.

3. That's kind of sad in a way. I used to love to read the NY papers |
|
and get the scoop on all of these events. Pearl Mesta (sp?) was known as one of the best hostesses in town, these gals used to try and outdo each other with their guest lists, etc. If you snagged JFK and Jacquie to attend your party, you were a hit...sigh.

The Alsop brothers, Mary Alsop, the Bradlees, John and Jackie Kennedy, John Galbraith, Pablo Casals at the White House, the glorious dinners, where the people sparkled far more than the crystal.
I'm old enough to remember reading about those events - they used to publish the menus! - and what the women wore, and who the single men brought as dates, and who performed, and what a huge, singular honor it was to be invited or to be asked to perform.
Since these hicks took over, there's been nothing. Fuckface and Pickles don't even go out to dinner. At least when his father was in office, he and his George Washington look-alike spouse used to go to a Chinese restaurant not far from here, and it was a big deal when the restaurant installed bulletproof glass in its windows in front. It's still there.
These people currently squatting in the Oval Office lack the elegance one might find in a troll dwelling under a bridge.

(Who's yelling?)
I don't have an alcoholic family, so I don't know if that's how they function. I do know that there's never been an administration as socially retarded as this one. They have contributed absolutely nothing to our cultural landscape. Imagine asking Fuckface who his favorite contemporary American painter is. Imagine asking him which contemporary American novelist he prefers.
Social retards, that's the Bush family. I can't wait until they're gone.
Can you imagine the elegance and hipness of an Obama White House?
I swoon, just thinking about it.......................

Bob Shrum was on CNBC talking about Novak and what good friends they are. Apparently they're very close friends.
I think the parties are all held behind closed doors these days, because the big joke is on all of us.
They're ALL in on the fix that is currently transpiring and devolving our country into a Fascist state.
I know I'm being cynical, but I truly believe that all of the socializing is kept hush hush because they're all cavorting with each other--Dems and Reps--and they're all cashing in big time and laughing at our Constitution.
We don't hear about the parties--cocktail or otherwise--because it would be evidence of the grand scheme that is playing out.
I mean, come on--Shrum best buddies with Novak. Bill Clinton golfing and fund raising with Bush Sr.
They laugh at us...as we continue to believe that there are two parties with very different agendas.

6. I don't know about secret meetings. |

I think of the "Georgetown Cocktail Party" as a metaphor for the chummy social relationship between the press and the government officials they are supposed to be holding accountable.
If you listen to certain political reporters (Cokie Roberts or the Politico people come to mind as some of the worst offenders), their analysis is more like gossip from some exclusive country club than actual information generated by reporting and investigation.
