Poll question: Do you think it would be a good idea to have some sort of "sink flag" you can put on your replies? |
|
Edited on Mon Jul-28-08 06:05 PM by LoZoccolo
This would be an option such that your reply would not kick the thread to the top of the list, but keep it where it otherwise would be.
I know, write the admins...I'm just wondering if other people here has thought about this.

2. It would be nice if you wanted to reply to a response to one of your previous messages. |
|
Sometimes I will post a message, then leave the forum for the rest of the day (for whatever reason), and the next day discover that someone replied to it. I know others might not appreciate digging up an old thread in that manner, just to respond to someone. I often just don't reply, so I don't bump the thread, but sometimes you just have to...if you know what I mean... ;)

3. I don't worry about it when responding to a reply to one of my posts. |

They all sink soon enough as it is.

4. Yeah, I could see where it would be polite not to kick your own thread. |
|
You could also see who the attention-seekers are by how many times they don't use the sink flag in their own thread. I was thinking of it as a way of replying to a thread that you think is disruptive without dignifying it with a kick.

7. No. The mandatory thread kick reinforces not wasting time on a bad thread. |

8. NO!!! -- Freedom to Express ! |
|
No, I read a lot of the OP's in GD and I like reading all the viewpoints and I don't want other DUers censoring what I choose to read. The less interesting seem to sink on their own anyway. The one's that are Hot seem to rise again and again anyway and I think some of the OP's people would be adding a 'sink' flag to might also be the one's that become the DUzy's on Fridays and I don't want people sinking OP's that they just happen to be tired of hearing about but are still current and important.
