Is it a coincidence that immediately upon hearing of a shotgun attack upon the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church, that Michael Savage came to mind?
Was it presumptuous to assume that this act had perhaps be carried out by someone who is a true believer in the rants of right wing radio?
That the shooter's actions are the logical result of the 24/7/365 demonization and scapegoating of "lib-ruls", immigrants & Muslims (the top 3 RW scapegoats of the moment?
Michael Savages recent smearing of autistic Americans & their families is rather mild compared to the stench that he has spewed daily on the public airways for years:
- - - On numerous occasions Savage has advocated leveling a Muslim capital city in retaliation for every beheading.
- - - Savage has repeatedly called for "raising the temperature" (to temperatures only possible with nuclear weapons) in the air 10,000 feet above the entire Sunni triangle.
- - - Savage has repeated advocated removing Sen. Durbin "in chains" from the floor of the Senate and incarcerating him for sedition (because Durbin quoted an American officer's criticism of U. S. military actions in an internal military document.)
- - - A few years ago, while discussing Hugo Chavez, Savage wondered why the Venezuelan army had not removed him in a coup, and then went on to state on the air that the US would only be saved by a right wing military coup, a charge he actually repeated on the air at least once within the next week. At the time, I thought Savage had finally crossed a line that even his RW sponsors would not stomach ----- that that would be one of his periodic outbursts which periodically threaten Savage's continued air time.
Should I have been surprised a few weeks later when his station started using a
clip this fascist rant FOR ADVERTISING?
Should anyone be surprised that one of the first things police found in the Tennessee killer's house was a copy of Savage's "Liberalism Is a Mental Disorder"?
Michael Savage is simply the most hateful rabble rouser in the history of American radio.
