Governor Feinstein?
It is way way way to early but the topic was written about in Matier and Ross today
"According to the statewide poll by JMM Research of Sacramento, Brown - himself a former governor looking for a repeat performance - would be the top choice of 31 percent of the registered Democrats surveyed if the primary were held today.

Newsom gets 19 percent. Villaraigosa has 12 percent, while Lt. Gov. John Garamendi and state schools chief Jack O'Connell both clock in with 9 percent.

But if you add Feinstein to the mix - and take out Newsom, Villaraigosa and O'Connell, figuring they might bow out if she jumps in - Brown drops to 24 percent, and the state's senior senator grabs 50 percent"

It would get her out of the Senate, but she will be appointing the replacement.

4. Not my call any longer, but I'd rather see B, N, or V over DiFi.
Which isn't to say I'm blind to her voter support in California.

I think if she ran she'd win, but I think there's a good chance she won't.

5. Ugh. I'd be so torn on that one.
I can't stand DiFi and I swore I'd never vote for her again. I left the box blank in the last election rather than violate that oath. Still, for the chance to get her out of the Senate? Hmmmmm....

I think it's a wasted discussion anyway. If she were to really try, I think the activists would make a bigger deal about her husbands connections to the Iraq war, and his profiteering (her husband owns Perini, which has made a mint on Iraq war "reconstruction" projects). I think it would turn into a nasty election that would make many stay home...something that benefits Republicans in this state.

6. I got yer poll right here....
Feinstein has strong middle to right support and pretends to be a "moderate" and even talks some of the talk. But she has managed over the years to finally piss off a lot of folks by too many times talking left and voting right. Her stands on numerous issues including privacy (eg recently supporting telecom immunity), has finally pushed me over the edge. I've voted for her every time till now, but never again and I will now actually work against Feinstein if she seeks further office in California. Time for her to retire. So lets put _that_ in a poll. Hey.

7. I voted for her more than once. Even met her the first time she ran when I was younger...
I've been disappointed for more than one reason since. :(

8. This San Franciscan says "no".
She has been consistantly on the wrong side of too many issues over the past 7+ years. I haven't voted for her since her first run.

9. Looks like people here finally get it.

I took a lot of shit last time when I said I simply refuse to vote for her. I would call her worthless, if I wanted to err on the side of generosity.

She's Traitor Joe in a pastel blazer.

10. Agreed...

when I learned that her husband was making millions off of war contracts then her actions all started to make sense.
