Man, the times are a changin' |

My neighbor, a retired Navy veteran of the first Eye-Raq conflict stopped me outside my house. He was asking me about Obama - he is on the fence.
Thankfully, I think I answered his questions thoughtfully, and with examples of moderate Republicans that support Obama's policy's in areas of foreign policy/economy. I was really thrown for a loop on that one.
He is a hard-core republican. Wow.
I told him to be careful, I'd already converted several republicans and he laughed and said, "McCain's just too old, he can't remember things, and Obama doesn't seem too bad for a Democrat."
He also admitted that the best time he could remember, economy-wise, was under Clinton - he almost gagged, mind you!
He promised to forward me any anti-Obama emails so I could debunk them for him!
I told him that if he voted Obama, he could come with me to party as the returns came in. He declined!!

This type of over the fence, neighbor to neighbor discussion is how things happen.

4. Your neighbor is way behind you in politics, but at least had the sense |
|
to consult an extremely informed citizen on the current campaign.
I bet you gave him reliable info, and I hope he runs with it. We'll take all the votes we can get our hands on.

trust Obama. He and his wife got caught up in one of those stupid interest-only loans on a $400,000 house that is now worth $288,000. I gave him all the facts I could and told him this time vote for your own good and not for a 72 year old POW that wants the job cause he thinks it would be cool. I said if you want the way things are now to go on for 4 more years (cause that's all McCain will get) then by all means vote for McCain. And then I sent him McCain's voting record for the troops and veterans - if he votes for McCain after all that, then he's just stupid.
