The only way repubs can win election 08 is by stealing it from Obama, & they WILL try |
|
Edited on Tue Jul-29-08 05:00 AM by Philosoraptor
Their mean old candidate CAN'T win this election fair and square, so we should prepare ourselves for when the republicans steal it, by vote count cheating or the Supremes.
We must NOT let that happen.

1. And it starts with the narrative that the election is close. |

10. Yes! The "election so close" meme is all over the place |
|
even at the impeachment hearing! Rebnik(sp?), a "professor" against impeachment said that the country is evenly divided and that this election will be so close that the partisanship will continue. Evenly divided? It's 80% to 20%! Cheney and his cabal are getting the talking points out so that they can argue this after the theft. Why do you think that McBush doesn't have to care about what he says or does? He already knows that he'll be president.

I hope at least there's a fight this time.

14. Kerry was in court for a long time over Ohio but nothing in the press. |
|
I've always wondered about that. It seems like he had next to no support at all from party insiders. Do you remember that? They all rushed onto the talk shows that weekend to talk bs about why we "lost".

9. the state of secrecy and the vote-counting process |
|
seem to be inter-related. We live in a national(homeland) security state and this means all kinds of secrecy laws are designed into it as a functional system. A true democratic system has no secrets to hide. We should be able to live in a society where there are no state secrets to hide.
We also are largely dependent upon computers for counting things. A computer was originally just a very fast adding machine, and this is fine for financial uses, scientific research and many practical affairs. But in the task of counting votes, I think we need to purposely design it as a slow process, and one that should be done manually, with paper.
You really don't need a computer to count a million votes. Sure, if you want to do it in a split second, but why must we demand that?
Democracy must be designed to work in slow-motion, with complete openness. We can use as a model that of Gorbachev's method of "glasnost" and "perestroika". These two Russian keywords helped to begin a political process that ultimately transformed and overhauled the USSR which was politically frozen in a state of secrecy. I think the same kind of process should and must be applied here in America.

12. we have no control over the matter |
|
the only reason we had gains last time was that the perverted republican freak stories surfaced before the election and the hackers underestimated the amount of fraud needed. They won't make that mistake agaain. Face it-it's over
