"I tell people don't kill all the liberals.
Leave enough so we can have two on every campus -- living fossils -- so we will never forget what these people stood for." -- Rush Limbaugh, Denver Post, 12-29-95, quoted by Brandi Mills

are as much to blame for this tragedy as the man who pulled the trigger himself. The cowards sit insulated from the world, spewing their hate - meanwhile, the likes of Mr. Atkinson act out their heroes' fantasies.

17. I say we round 'em up and charge them as "accomplices before the fact"!
King Henry II was publicly flogged just for sighing, "Will no one rid me of this meddlesome priest?" Two Knights took this as an order and murdered Thomas A. Beckett.

6. I'm Smelling A Class Action Suit...
Here's the conditions...and that is proving that hate radio did incite this thing. Kudos to Gatorboy for finding that posting on the Faux Noise website...and I suspect we'll find out this loser also was a Freeper. This is one reason I'd like to see the rambling screed...hell I'd even want to see this dude interviewed...let's see if he uses the codewords of hate radio. A good lawyer may be able to find connections that could lead to a class action civil suit against Faux or Premier or Citadel as an accessory to the murders. It'd be a high barrier, but I'd just like to see a trial as to crack the hate radio world open...the people, the money, the political connections...that could really destroy it.

9. That's The One We Need To See
But to prove it in court is another story. Again, this isn't criminal...Rushbo didn't pull the trigger...but now did he influence the shooter in any way? It's kinda the same argument as used when a distraught parent tries to sue a record company over their child's suicide blaming the lyrics...again a high barrier to climb, but such a trial, especially the discovery, can reveal a lot of how the hate radio world works...coordinates and dismenates.

The headlines is what we need to see...allow others to jump to the same conclusions. Maybe, just maybe, this may force the corporate media to focus some light on hate radio and its truly acidic and corrupting nature. If not, then a civil suit sure will. Imagine the media feeding frenzy when a O'Reilly or Rushbo is compelled to testify and explain what they really meant by some of the shit they've written and said. Watch the flop sweat flow...

Cheers...

16. I'm still amazed
That a crowd of unarmed people took the shooter down in less than 30 seconds, leaving him alive to stand trial. It's remarkable. Incredible. And completely at odds with everything I've been told over the last several decades about how much better everything would be if everyone was carrying a concealed weapon.

So, instead of a group of people standing over a prone corpse holding a smoking gun speculating on what caused him to snap, we'll actually have a chance to find out what drove Mr. Adkisson to his murderous rage against a group of people who posed no threat to him. Hmmm. Maybe there's a spot in the Bush administration for him? He seems to have absorbed the lessons so carefully taught by our leaders and their media cheerleaders. And yet, there are some people so naive as to be shocked that such a thing could happen in Fortress America.

23. They Truly Were Heroes
I have no clue how I would react in such a situation. Sadly, in our area there have been attacks on synagogues over the years and a regular feature at high holiday services have been a security detail. This has been going on for well over a decade...a reaction to the rise in the skinheads and neo-Nazi gangs that do operate in this country.

I'll be curious if he ever reaches a trial...or if he pleads out. No doubt a trial will open a window into what drove him to this heinous act and the influences.

Cheers...

21. The worst thing they did to Matthew Hale was deny him admission to the Bar!
And, his "protege", Benjamin Smith, conducted a killing spree of blacks, Jews, and Asians.

22. I Knew People Shot By Smith
It happened in the neighborhoods I grew up in. I knew Ricky Birdsong...the former Northwestern BB coach who was killed by Smith in his driveway while playing hoops with his son.

I don't see the tie in with hate radio in those killings...religious radio, yes, hate radio, no. There is a difference.

24. The issue in the Hale case was "freedom of speech", not
"freedom of religion".

"Finally, many observers will conclude that free speech is a zero-sum-game and Hale has no responsibility whatsoever for the deeds of Benjamin Smith."

25. At Least Hale's Behind Bars...
and there was a direct connection between Hale and Smith. Now how do you prove direct connections between someone listening to a hate radio show? Because he listens to Rushbo, how do you connect his actions? Just curious to see how this could be presented.

7. Call the FBI and Homeland Security..........
Isn't this a textbook example of terrorism?

"the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, esp. for political purposes." (Emphasis is mine.)

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/terrorism

I think the Feds would be very interested in talking to Mr. Christie about why he advocates the near wholesale killing of a certain political ideology.

12. All those right wing talk show host do is make jokes about killing liberals
They have turned that word into their battle cry!
Liberals = anyone that isn't like their small minded, white "Christian" selves.
God forbid a church councils families dealing with alternative lifestyles.
I mean would Christ want them to "Love one another", "Treat others as you would want yourself treated". Or go into a church and shoot down people.
They can't blame their leaders for anything they do, it must be "The Liberals"(Jews, Gays, Blacks, other religions, etc.) doing it.

My friends grandfather is worried about weather he believes in God because he married a Catholic woman!! He's a hard-core neo-con.

They engage in virulent hate speech and then are -- shocked! -- when someone follows up on it.
