Thirteen House members subpoenaed by defense attorneys in the corruption case of California
businessman Brent Wilkes are refusing to comply, and House lawyers are expected to file a
motion to quash the subpoenas.
Wilkes is scheduled to go on trial on Oct. 2 as part of the ongoing federal probe into
the bribery scandal that brought down former Rep. Randy “Duke” Cunningham (R-Calif.).
Cunningham is serving a 100-month federal prison sentence after pleading guilty to
accepting more than $2.4 million in bribes and other corruption charges.

“a fishing expedition by Geragos” and dismissed the whole incident as “a publicity stunt.” snip-->

after the final vote.
