I don't see any warnings anywhere though. Stay safe.

1. We've had some pretty heavy rains
every evening since last Saturday accompanied by lots of thunder and lightning and it looks like more of the same today. The causeway has been closed this AM. I hope Mother Nature offers up a hot and sunny and typically sauna like day on Saturday. We are going down to the Quarter for Satchmofest

4. I was lucky. When I was there last week we only had a couple showers.

5. Isn't that incredible?
Spent five days in New Orleans in July several years ago and finally learned the reality behind the stereotype that everyone moves slower in the South, especially in summer. GOOD GODS but that was steamy--you can't help but NOT be immobile. There was a lot of dashing from one air-conditioned building to another, and a lot of sitting very, very still in the courtyard of the hotel, reading. I boggled at the thought of what life was like before artificial cooling.

My hair volume increased exponentially when we were there--my frizz was about half a mile across.

6. When I would go out of town for
a week or so, getting off the plane in the summer was like stepping into a sauna. Then I would get used to it again. :)

7. I am normally a brisk walker, but had to seriously adjust my speed
downwards! And yes, the hair was a mess. Humidity plus wind = train wreck.
