May 15: Conyers on Karl Rove: 'Someone's got to kick his ass'

"We're closing in on Rove," Conyers was heard saying today on the House floor, according to a source for Politico. "Someone's got to kick his ass."

Rove, having refused to obey a subpoena calling for testimony on his role in the dubious prosecution of former Alabama governor Don Siegelman, has a week to change his mind. If he doesn't show, Conyers said: "We'll do what any self-respecting committee would do. We'd hold him in contempt. Either that or go and have him arrested."

Nothing.

On Thursday, July 10, Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers issued a 'stern' warning to Karl Rove's attorney, Robert Luskin: "This letter is to formally notify you that we must insist on compliance with the subpoena and urge you to reconsider your position... . Please let us know no later than Tuesday July, 15 if Mr. Rove will comply with the subpoena, or we will proceed to consider all other appropriate recourse."

That 5 day deadline is fast approaching three weeks, Mr. Chairman. Other than an invigorating nonimpeachment hearing, it doesn't look like anyone but a few patriotic Iowans have attempted to bring the Turdblossom to justice.
Tell me again whose ass is getting kicked here, John.

5. They will consider "a resolution and report"?
There is no further consideration required, nor reports. All of the facts have been well documented and are on file. It is time for someone to pack up the cuffs and the Tasers and bring him in.

It's long past time he backed up his public statements and stern letters with real action, though. Any action.

11. Indeed, John, someone....if only there was a person who had the power to do so,
maybe someone who had a congressional committee vested with that power....if only that person had all the material evidence required to "kick his ass"....if only.....
