5. My daughter works down there in a tall building, too. |
|
She said it was really long, and felt weird rolling around.

7. Most of these buildings are on Teflon rollers... |
|
Deep under the ground at the base of the foundation. They keep us rolling a long time, but they even out the pressure on the buildings. I'm told we are safer in a building like this than out on the roads... and I believe it!

10. Our newer buildings up here are like that, too. |
|
Sometimes they even get rocking and rolling when the wind is blowing strong.

I hit that door and my ass was outside real quick.. haha my friend said he never saw someone get out the door so fast:scared: yea I'm a chicken shit when it comes to earthquakes.
Just felt another quick jolt tremor. my hearts pounding and my nerves are a little frayed.

11. On another thread, many who experienced it commented that |
|
it seemed to last a long time. The last one I experienced in Seattle in 2001 (a 6.8) - that was my sense, too. It just seemed to keep going and going and going. I've been through many, and the duration of that one was notable.
Which makes me wonder and leads me to ask -- do you suppose the quakes lasting longer are indicative of anything? Is this something that is common to the most recent quakes?
Hope you're all okay in CA! :hi:
