When Congress abrogates their function of oversight, investigation, enforcement, impeachment, etc.

they are essentially disenfranchising the citizens from the political process. They represent YOU! They, in fact, are YOU! If they do not do their job of representing your interests, they are saying that de facto, you do not exist.

I am starting to believe it. I know that the corporate interests exist and that their views are well represented and that legislation is crafted to support those corporate interests at the expense of the citizenry.

Who benefits when prescriptions CANNOT BY LAW be negotiated for the benefit of Medicare Recipients?

Who benefits when telecoms are post facto pardoned from breaking wire-tap laws?

What constituency is the Congress representing when they pass laws like that? Is it you and me? I don't think so.

Definition of "abrogate" from Miriam Webster, http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/abrogate
2 : to treat as nonexistent <abrogating their responsibilities
