Who is a Croc owner here?
I am - I own three pairs, 1 "Baja", 1 "Beach" sports style, and 1 sandals.

I love them all.

Wife owns the most - about 6-7. She is wearing her gray Crocs now.

Parents have their own Crocs, my nieces/nephews have their own.

1. I have 1 pair....
I only wear them when it's too wet for my Birks... They're OK, but I'll take a pair of Birkenstocks any day.

3. They're overpriced, considering their looks.
And the knockoffs just make the buyer look cheap. Did I mention their looks? :puke:

4. They fit great over my son's SMOs (foot/ankle braces).
We have a very difficult time finding shoes for my son to wear over his braces. Most specially made shoes cost a minimum of $50/each. That's $150 in shoes for a 4 year old (he's actually be in special inserts and braces since he was 1 year old). We finally found that XW New Balance work, so we watch for the sales. Then we got a tip that crocs are great... At $24 - WOOHOO, my son finally has shoes that are breathable, and easily washable. Since he got his, we've noticed an outbreak of them at therapy Clinic :D

19. Nice enough to wear to work and still comfortable
A co-worker has them in the black/black and I was like "ohh those are cute" and then she said "Oh they're Crocs." It was quite an amazing day, I have to say.

I hate the usual Crocs, very ugly and I'd never wear them, but these are cute and comfortable. Just last Saturday I was wearing the sandals and someone noticed the tag and said "oh those are Crocs???"

I should have gotten the "medical" version, though. The little nubs on the sole bother my feet. I'd have preferred a smooth soled version.

14. Different strokes for different folks... I'll take my Merrell Mocs
any day over crocs... I have a thing about protecting my feet against stomping oblivious crowds and other errant sources of damage. Barefoot-- fine in sand and fresh grass-- but otherwise, I want socks and shoes. Am I weird? (based only on this one issue, please--LOL)

22. 3-pair. Two paint-covered from my studio. Both pairs FUBAR, but great in the studio.
Both pairs FUBAR, but great in the studio and great in the yard.

One "dress" pair of Crocs. They stay clean and paint-free. They are tan. I wanted to wear my dress Crocs to Mom's funeral last month, but Dr. DemoTex nixed that!*

* My Mom loved the look of our Crocs. She always said that when she got well she wanted a pair .. dammit! She was cool. She taught me how to drive a straight-shift when I was 14-15 (1962). In 1988 she demanded, and I acquiesced, to drive my '78 Porsche 911SC. She did. With me in the passenger seat. She was smooth as butter on the clutch and gears! Damn!

but if you wear them out in public, like a movie or a restaurant, your fashion sense equals Laura Bush.

27. I am wearing a pair at this very moment.
In fact, it is my first pair that I purchased more than 4 years ago. I have 11 additional pairs by the back door in a special rack that I built because they were taking up too damn much space in my closet.

I just counted up and I have given 27 pair as gifts. My great nieces and nephews are the primary recipients. Three of them live in Russia and are back in the U.S. for the summer and the first thing they asked when they got off the airplane "Aunt **** - They have some new styles. Are you going to buy us a new pair of crocs?" Of course we went to the store and the first thing my oldest niece noticed(she is 11) was a large poster explaining how to recycle crocs. She made both of her parents read the poster.

Then, she picked out a pair of Hannah Montana crocs. Yuck.

29. 1 pair (cheap knockoffs)
I have bunions, fused bones and a heel spur. Anyone whose delicate sensibilities are offended because my feet are comfortable needs to: 1) fix their priorities because they ought to be far more offended by what high heels do to women, and 2) get a life.

30. Bingo!
I hate what those damned high heels did to my feet. I will never again wear a pair.

Mine are cheap knockoffs as well as I use them a lot in the garden and just for regular stuff.

:hi:

32. Mine are cheap knock-offs, too. I have a basement studio...
and they are the best thing to wear while standing on the cement floor for hours at a time.

I only wear them outside in the garden or when going kayaking or canoeing.

Otherwise, I choose from my ridiculous array of Converse or sandals. :)

I fucking hate Crocs. And Converse.

I also happen to hate Nike, but that is exogenous to my experiences in the warehouse.
