Obama does not represent hubris, or arrogance. He is confident that his is the right way. He is a good leader. He actually believes what he says.

You want hubris, arrogance? Look here:

We've been telling you about it for 8 years.

1. When they say "arrogant" they really mean "uppity"
and that pisses me OFF.

2. I Posted This Elsewhere On The Board - It Really Fits Here Though.....
Look - coming after 8 years of * I Believe That people have developed low expectations of their leaders. * has provided us an expectation of a highly partisan stubborn inarticulate doofus and John McCain has also kind of aspired to that same standard of *. I guess that the Repugs are comfortable with that image. Probably the MSM - which has been imbedded in this administration from probably before they took office - has acquiesced to this same image and the rest of us are accepting because we have to tolerate it - because we have had no choice but to accept it.

Now all of a sudden someone - Obama - comes along and is the complete opposite of *.

And you know what - it is so completely foreign to us that we don't - and particularly the media - doesn't know how to deal with the likes of an Obama yet.

As a result - they see him coming off as Presidential before his time - because - we/they don't know what Presidential is anymore - and someone that is actually displaying Presidential qualities is looked at as being - presumptuous.

Well deal with it people - after all he is our presumptive nominee.

3. All They Have To Do Is Look In The Mirror
I find it totally disengenuous for the pompus beltway media to judge whose an "elitist". Most of these live in a bubbleworld of self importance and blissful ignorance. They're all impressed with their "expertise" and their religious devotion to "conventional wisdom"...the latest village rage that is their road map.

Obama represents a threat to these people...he's gonna mess up the status quo. Too many in the beltway had it too good...they knew who to blow and when...and now that game could be changed and they don't like it. Obama also represents a different approach to the media...he doesn't play their game. Just like Bill Clinton, they can't intimidate him and when he doesn't play by their rules he automatically is labeled as "aloof", "elitist" and "uppity".

As I've long said, our biggest enemy this fall won't be the Repugnicans, but the corporate media. They feel "entitled" to be the center of the beltway bubble and don't like some "newcomer" to upset their applecart.

4. Expect the MSM to suddenly rediscover their ability to raise controversial issues
where the WH is concerned. If Obama does manage to win, the press will hound him constantly no matter what choices he may make.

5. Yes, the 'press' gave Bush a free ride, but Obama will be hounded ceaselessly
by the press, of that I am sure.
