Savage's "Liberalism is a Mental Health Disorder" found in home of Knoxville killer...

Suspect's note cites 'liberal movement' for church attack

More charges expected to be filed against Adkisson

...

Because the semiautomatic weapon holds three shells, Adkisson had to reload after the initial attack. That's when several church members grabbed Adkisson and grappled for control of the shotgun. They overpowered him and tied him with belts face down on the floor, apparently disrupting Adkisson's attack plans.

"We found 76 shotgun shells," Owen said. The additional shells were in a black leather bag Adkisson had carried along with the guitar case.

....

Owen said Adkisson bought the shotgun "about a month ago" at a pawn shop. Owen declined to identify the pawn shop, but police said the business is located in Anderson County.

....

Still seized three books from Adkisson's home, including "The O'Reilly Factor," by television commentator Bill O'Reilly; "Liberalism is a Mental Disorder," by radio personality Michael Savage; and "Let Freedom Ring," by political pundit Sean Hannity.

....

Again, I hope and pray this remains an isolated incident. But as this economy goes further down the toilet, and as the RW uses their almost-monopoly of media time to blame "liberals" for it, I'm afraid it may well not be the last time we debate this.

Savage, Hannity, and O'Reilly will find a way to blame this incident on the liberals siding with the terrorists!

4. The House Was Already There...This Was More Firewood
The subliminal and overt messages of hate radio aren't the cause but can be a symptom of a life of hate and intolerance. If the venom spewed was that powerful, these incidents would be a lot more common and widespread. As is the case with suggestion, like hypnosis, you can't trigger a reaction if the need or thought isn't already there. For example, flashing a coke on the movie screen for 30 seconds in a desert scene won't work if you don't like Coke. A Sewage or Rushbo don't incite the action, they just are re-inforcement...they're not someone who causes these nuts to snap, they just offer comfort or some conveluted rationalization to a mindset that's already been long set on hatred and violence.

Hate radio is a problem for how its become a profitable industry that can reinforce a nut to go "postal"...but that's not their real game. It's to make money and preserve their power through polarizing and catering to some of the most disfunctional and alienated people in the country. Hate radio sells...makes money for many large corporations who have used "deregulation" to dominate the public airwaves and looking for a quick easy way to turn a buck.

As long as a Cheap Channel can make millions in peddling hate, it will spew out of the AM band.

5. Yes, I think it is only the beginning of hate crimes.... which have been
steadily increasing... Crimes on Arabs, crimes against people from Central and South Americans, crimes against gay people, crimes agains "liberal" sources, and even crimes against the homeless.

the so-called "liberal media" has been playing the overt game of divisive attacks against the human mind. They manipulate people who tried to play the game the way they were told to play the game.. and now they need to find someone to blame.. The more people lose, the more they will attack against the people they were told were at fault, instead of joining together and working against the system that keeps them completely down.... Probably the worst thing I have seen is the racial division that has grown between African Americans and immigrants (legal and illegal) originating from Central and South American countries. The reality is that they should be working side by side to demand jobs, health care, better pay, and better benefits. Together they would be strong.. and together their actions of working together for these things would actually cause the entire system to "trickle up".. it would cause employers to pay more and offer more to their employees for their time... All workers need to work together.. we all need to band together and Unite. Its the thing that makes us strong.

Fox Noise is blatant... we know they are designed to tell their white, uneducated, down on their luck racist, Joe 6-pack who they are supposed to hate.. AND then their whacky base goes out and does this.. I wouldn't be surprised if many of "hate" blogging sites.. the freepers.. are congratulating this man for his service in taking out liberals and wish he had taken out a few more.

14. Trust me... I Wish it Were Not True
I'd love to listen to something from the left where I live and I live in a Blue State in New England of all places.

NPR is non-bias (supposed to be anyways), and maybe some college radio news for an hour just doesn't cut it for me. We are bombarded with right wing news on the radio...

16. So when do we start the book burning?
yes, these books are nothing more than hate, however, the bigger issue here is; this guy that did the shooting is a fucking nut with serious issues.

As much as I totally revile those media tools as nothing more than propaganda outlets for the rightwing, I still support their freedom of speech.

What needs to be addressed is why this moron who shot up the church and has a record of threatening his wife got a hold of the guns?

Yeah yeah, second amendment blah blah blah. Fine you want to own a gun, great, but I think there needs to be a psychological profile done of anyone who wishes to own one.

If you mentally can't cut the mustard, sorry, no gun.

18. hey, it's the first amendment. I didn't write it but I stand by it.
until someone passes a law clearing defining hate speech, thus further eroding our freedom of speech, they still have the right to say what they want.

Regardless of what you think, what they write is still not yelling fire in a movie theater.

The guy that did the shooting is the fucking nut. Those who write the books are calculating tools who make money off the mouth breathers who can't think for themselves. Like the shooter.
