A sad way to die: alone in an aircraft (Delta Airlines) lavatory.

ATLANTA, Georgia (AP) -- Delta Air Lines flight attendants found the body of a woman in the restroom of a plane that landed in Atlanta, Georgia, early Wednesday morning, a spokeswoman for the company said.

The crew noticed the restroom was occupied on final approach, spokeswoman Keyra Johnson said. Flight 950 from Los Angeles landed at 5:51 a.m. (snip ..)

The body was to be taken to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation medical examiner's office for an autopsy later Wednesday, said GBI spokesman John Bankhead.

Authorities were awaiting the results of an autopsy to determine the cause of death, Bankhead said. (a little more at CNN link).

4. A few years back. I was on a plane to San Francisco

and the guy in the row ahead of us and to the left died on final approach.

All I could think of was that poor family waiting for him to get off the plane. It was Thanksgiving. :cry:

I think that is a rather sad way to go. Probably one of the least lonely places to be, a small space filled with hundreds of people, yet alone at the same time. Ironic and sad
