Don't let T. Boone fool you. Along with the wind power project comes
pollution credits. He never mentions these when he is up on his soapbox. Sure he wants to build a lot of wind parks to produce electric power (a good thing). The money collected from electric power will just cover maintenance and repay investors.

They will make some money but... The real money will be in trading pollution credits on the commodities market which will make billions and allow the polluters a get out of jail card and not upgrade plants and equipment.

1. No one can trust a backer of the Swiftboaters. He means to make plenty of
money I am sure.

2. It seems to be just a new spin...
...on the old "tax loss" scam. Invest in some local businesses without really caring if they succeed or not, because either you make money or you write the loss off against other, more profitable, businesses. Meanwhile, you look like a real humanitarian and "friend of the little guy."

This new racket is even better, though: win or lose, the investor ends up with a valuable commodity (pollution credits) that can be sold for big cash.

4. I see age hasn't withered Pickens' insatiable fucking greed one little bit
All you have to do is read through PROP 10, and you'll see a laundry list of cash grabs that benefit the greedy bastard — stuff like $200 million for a liquefied natural gas terminal, and $2.5 billion for rebates of up to $50,000 for each natural gas vehicle. All this measure's billions does is benefit Pickens' company to the exclusion of almost all other companies that are trying to break into the market and produce clean-vehicle fuels and technology.

He makes good commercials, and gets people all worked up; but this scheme of his isn’t going to do anything at all to reduce our dependence on oil imports. It’s really just a scam meant to pull tax subsidies out of the government, and into his own damn pocket.

Nothing like a little taxpayer assistance to help get your monopoly on, right?

5. He also wants to take water from the Ogalalla Aquifer and pipe it to Dallas.
May be good for Dallas - and certainly for T. Boone - but the small farming towns on the plains will die without water. And when the towns die so do the farms. No more wheat. Irrigation will eventually dry up the aquifer, but T. Boone wants to hurry it along. I grew up on the plains, hate both the politics (redder than the South) and the wind, but we lose a lot when they die.
