Why do politicians try to make us China when we really could be Denmark? |
|
China is full of pollution, a lack of respect for dissent, a crumbling social system with massive tensions between rural and urban, the haves and have nots.
Denmark has great schools, a good environment, a vibrant political discourse with respect for free speech and liberty, and a universal health care system.
I hear what you are saying Mark Warner. China is going for the gold. But they are not built to get there right now. And it should be evident we aren't either.

1. Politicians have more power in a China than in a Denmark |

Kind of obvious once you think about it, no?

3. China is a neocon paradise. |

For all the same reasons you listed, plus an appalling human rights record. Turning America into a clone of China is Dick Cheney's wet dream.
