(Jack) Davis warns of a new civil war with Southern states (NY-26)
from the Buffalo News:

WASHINGTON — Congressional candidate Jack Davis, in a speech earlier this year, warned that increasing immigration from Mexico could lead to a new civil war between northern states and Mexican-influenced Southern states that may want to secede from the United States.

“In the latter part of this century or the next, Mexicans will be a majority in many of the states and could therefore take control of the state government using the democratic process,” Davis said in the speech. “They could then secede from the United States, and then we might have another civil war.”

A supporter of one of Davis’ rivals for the Democratic nomination in the 26th district, Jon Powers, posted the video to http://www.buffalonews.com/home/story/421229.html">YouTube. The Powers campaign alerted The Buffalo News to the Davis video.

...snip...

“They have an allegiance to Mexico, where they were taught the U. S. fought an unjust war with Mexico and took this territory,” Davis said. “They believe the territory of these states belongs to Mexico.”

Jack Davis, a former Republican, is running for the Democratic nomination against Jon Powers, an Iraq War vet supported by DCCC. Thanks to the Supreme Court, Davis can now spend his own millions on the Primary race for what would be an otherwise winnable seat.

Jon took 30 minute out his schedule last month to chat with me about his goals in Congress and his campaign strategy. He knows how to win this if he has the resources. If you can contribute (directly or through ActBlue), nows the time.

3. More likely the southern states will demand an end to the union-busting "right to work" status
they've been suffering under for so long.

8. The story goes...
Davis was a self-described "Goldwater Republican" for 50 years. In late 2003, he purchased two tickets to a $1,000-a-plate Republican fundraiser in Buffalo, attended by Vice President Dick Cheney. Davis insisted on talking to the Vice President about U.S. free trade policies, which Cheney's staff refused to allow.

Following a moderately heated dispute, Cheney staff members ordered Davis to be ejected from the fundraiser. Davis then quit the Republican Party. The incident also caused some embarrassment for Cheney's staff after an audio recording of the conversation between Davis and one Cheney staffer was played on a local radio station.

10. With the way things are going, there might not be a functional country by the 2080s.
The corruption will kill the Republic before it splinters due to ethnic tensions.
