New Orleans & Gulf Coast DU'ers....Can you share your experience? |
|
I know we have many DU Gulf Coast, Florida Panhandle and Texax Border Staters here on DU. Many of you were hard hit by Katrina and have just rebuilt. Thinking of DU'er "Merh," "Swampie" and others who dug their way out of that disaster and are still with us. There are many more...who are here with us..and given that many of us DU'ers on the SouthEast Quadrant of US "Hurricane Zone" are all together and watching and worrying tonight...I hope we can ban together as "Fellow DU'ers" and share experiences of what's going on.
Prayers and VIBES and THOUGHTS...for all of us...who are affected by these Hurricanes...and can we keep a "Running Thread" of what's going on with all?
Just for now...who is evacuating...who is staying..and how are our Florida buddies doing since "Weather Channel" is saying even Orlando, FLA is already effected by this weather pattern.
Many of us have friends and relatives in all these areas...and many already live in them.
Just saying. Prayers for all...and can you post what you are doing if you aren't already "Packing the Hell Up and Getting Out and have NO TIME...to be posting on this site!"

After Fay last week, we lost power for two days. And that was just a tropical storm. I'm staying though, no chance of flooding here.

all day. Torrential rain and tropical storm force winds.
The tornado reports are what scare the hell out of me.
Just had a really nasty patch a little while ago.
It looks as if the eye is leaving Cuba now, which means it is over some very warm water. Not a good thing.
163 miles SW of my abode at this moment.

4. Cable "Weather Channel" is saying Orlando is having winds and lots of rain...due to Gustav... |
|
but checking I can't find anything on NHC, Weather Underground, Accuweather ..all online to see why Gustav is causing disturbances here. I can tell you that here in NC we are having crazy weather ever since Fay hit the Gulf Coast...and I still can't understand why Fay is supposed to still be affecting us.
Whatever...we all do the best we can to deal with all this...STAY SAFE...Prayers (((vibes))..
