1. That's cuz I told her to go there yesterday! I lived in Beaufort, SC, |

for many years, and to my recollection, Savannah has been storm-free for many, many years. So I say, bring Hanna (as a cat 1) on into Savannah - they'll be okay - and leave Florida and Charleston and Myrtle Beach and the Outer Banks alone!
Nothing personal to Savannah, of course - she's a fine old town.
And anything bigger than a cat 1 can just head north/east and fuck with the "shipping lanes" eh?

2. Hanna's forecast is HIGHLY unreliable |
|
Unlike Gustav, for whom the models are in close agreement in terms of future path, Hanna is a completely different ballgame. There are several factors coming together at once, and a change in any of the variables results in very different future tracks for the storm. This thing could make landfall anywhere from Cuba to the Outer Banks, or even not make landfall at all. The strength of the storm is equally problematical, with models predicting everything from a strong Cat 2/3 down to dissipating into an open wave.
I'm not trying to disagree with you, I just want to make sure that people don't see that forecast path and think they don't need to worry because they are not near Savannah.
