The governor of Alaska has had an airplane to use for probably ever since there WAS a governor of Alaska--Alaska is notoriously dependent on air travel. Before Frank Murkowsky came along, the "current" governor's plane was a King Air turboprop. Murkowsky bought a Westwind II jet with state money. Unfortunately, jet airplanes can only use hard-surface runways, unlike turboprops that can land on soft-surface ones. Hence, the plane was used for two things: flying the governor between Juneau and Anchorage, and flying Alaskan prisoners to Arizona where, under contract, they were housed.

Palin made headlines when she took office by selling the plane on eBay.

Why is the whole thing relevant to me? Well, it happened in my family. My mother has always been a very, very psychologically-damaged person. I'm positive it had to due with the family circumstances. She found out from a relative prior to his death that the person she'd had always thought was her way-older sister was really her biological mother. Reportedly, my grandmother E (really my great-grandmother) was at least somewhat attentive to her 'daughter' until Grandma E's husband died. Then, she bowed out emotionally from everything. That occurred when my mother was in her teens. Mother had been very self-involved until then; after that, she just plain had a tortured, borderline-type personality (at least what I remember of her consistently from her late 20's on). I've barely spoken to her for the last three decades (she's been very mean - to put it politely). The bottom line? This can be a devastating thing to happen to the child in question (who comes to question who his parents really are) and have far-reaching effects. Perhaps it will not harm the child in the Palin situation, if true, due to his unique characteristics. This type of lying, however, cause a deep, visceral reaction in me. Would it affect the way I would vote, if I liked a candidate and I found out about this type of a lie? Well, yes it would.

the info about amniotic fluid running down her leg -- where did that come from? I mean, if there was something covert going on, why wouldn't Palin just say hey, good thing I got back just in time to have the baby; why make up the drama about breaking water in TX and not hauling one's premature downs baby-laden a** to a hospital until 12 or however many hours it was later? which just invites scrutiny of the whole situation (heaven help us if she really is that dumb.)

Also, I have to say, re- the pics of Bristol: the main pic proffered is from 2006, definitely too early to be relevant. And she's a beautiful young woman, but not exactly stick-thin.

I think this should be investigated, but I'd plead for some tact toward Bristol; and I'm also worried about being Rathergated.

Most of all, though, I am very FRUSTRATED that all those claiming to have seen incriminating pics that have been scrubbed from the 'net weren't savvy enough to SAVE THEM. I mean, where the heck have you been the last 8 or more years??? PLEASE let us all learn a lesson from this.

because if this story is true, there must be so much heartache inside this young teen, Bristol, that I cannot even fathom what she could be feeling. I have a very tender place in my heart for young women in this country, and what it is like in this day and age to grow-up. You see, I have two daughters struggling to become grown women themselves. Can you imagine what it must be like if you just gave birth at 16, 4 short months ago to a down-syndrome child, then your child was claimed by your mother as hers, and your mother was chosen as the Vice Presidential running mate for the 2nd highest office in the U.S.? The swirl of being pulled from your comfort zone and into an incredible media circus could only heap more confusion and uncertainty into a life already very emotionally fragile.

When I looked at your video, I clicked on one advertised below it. I believe someone else has had the same thoughts as me. After viewing it, I have no doubt who the real mother is, having been one myself and witnessing my own daughter become a mother for the first time 2 years ago, I recognize "that look". See if you can tell too.
