At the 2004 GOP convention Lynn Cheney delivers a list of what "Dick did not" do, to which Jon Stewart supplies a worthy addition. Also on this date, Bush tries to weasel out of blame for Katrina with the lame excuse, "I don't think anybody anticipated the breach of the levees" (something that was in fact much feared).
