Sorry. I know, it sucks, but she's their friggin sweetheart. All she has to do is tear up, and they'll circle the wagons.

3. I was counting on Romney to lead a floor fight, demanding he be inserted as VP |
|
He's still got a decent block of delegates, doesn't he?
My theory is that's why they really want to cancel the convention, and the hurricane merely provides them a cover that allows them to get away with it.

4. Is Palin part of the "12-year plan"? |
|
Edited on Mon Sep-01-08 02:18 AM by Lorentz
Is this the working strategy behind this nonsense?
The GOP shove in a wedge-issue candidate who is barely old-enough to run for office. They bamboozle the electorate and McCain (barely) wins in Nov. Less than a year later, McCain is unfit for the office and steps down: President Palin rises, the first woman to hold office. The country is captivated and hypnotized by this fact, and also the latest season of American Idol: Survivor. Having not been elected as President in 2008, Palin then heads the ticket in 2012 and 2016, ensuring almost quarter-century of GOP rule.
Of course, one would hope the American people aren't stupid enough to fall for this.

"stupid enough to fall for this". My 90-year-old mother thinks they are batshit crazy, and so do I.

Obama's convention bump seems to have been pretty decent, and the weekend news has been more about Gustav than about Palin- outside of DU, of course. Maybe Palin actually has been a net positive for McCain (the MSM is certainly making no real effort to speak any ill of her), but it'll probably be a couple of days before we'll really know.
