Are Gas Prices Up Where You Are?
Edited on Mon Sep-01-08 10:07 AM by Tandalayo_Scheisskop
Because if they are, here are the latest Energy Market quotes:

Edited to reflect the latest market prices, down even more. This could be a very interesting day.

CLV08.NYM Crude Oil Oct 08 112.57 10:05am ET Down 2.89 (2.50%)
HOV08.NYM Heating Oil Oct 08 3.1236 10:05am ET Down 0.0683 (2.14%)
NGV08.NYM Natural Gas Oct 08 7.45 10:05am ET Down 0.493 (6.21%)
PNV08.NYM Propane Gas Oct 08 1.74 Aug 29 0.00 (0.00%)
RBV08.NYM RBOB Gasoline Oct 08 2.7934 10:05am ET Down 0.0608 (2.13%)

And here is a related story from Marketwatch: http://www.marketwatch.com/news/story/hurricane-gustav-loses-strength-hits/story.aspx?guid={52FCE5D8-BC51-4CFE-9B24-45351D65374F}

It all adds up to the likelyhood that if your pump prices have gone up, you are likely seeing gouging on the news of Gustav. If you feel you have been victimized by this, you need to contact your state's Department of Consumer Affairs and State Attorney General and let them know.

2. Came down around here - Premium is well under $3.90,
had been over $4.40.

But I heard that we can expect at least $20/gallon increase overall because of the hurricanes forcing shutdown of offshore drilling/refining on the coast.

As my wife said, they are licking their lips waiting for any excuse.

3. Well...
The market would be injecting that increase now, if they were going to try it. I am sure that some were feeding catastrophic increase news to the MSM, for their own gain, but it is apparent that it didn't take at the market level. At the distributor and pump level, that story could well be different, at least in certain cities and areas.
