I Wonder Who Told Bush He Could Not Attend The Republican Convention?
Edited on Mon Sep-01-08 11:07 AM by ThomWV
Bush, who has never admitted any failure, still considers his own Presidency a roaring success. He must have felt that he would be welcome at his Party Convention for tonight's opening speeches, after all, he is its head. I have to wonder just who was left with the task of telling him to find an excuse not to attend, that his presence was not desired, that Party unity and the presumptive Nominee would be better served if he was out of sight and mind somewhere remote. Given his well reported temper and inability to accept any sort of criticism it had to be a suicidal task to be the one to tell him.

7. McCain & the republicans don't want anything associated with Bush or Cheney....McCain
Edited on Mon Sep-01-08 01:59 PM by LaPera
wants to pull away from the "McBush, McSame" etc. labels, the image Obama has been working to and successfully tagging McCain with, (which is the truth) - that by voting for McCain is a vote for a Bush third term....McCain desperately wants and needs to break away from that image and this bullshit category 1 hurricane gives McCain & the republicans that excuse....Just look at the way thy have the media eating it up....sucking in viewers watching this storm, bringing in more ad revenue to the news channels...

So everybody is happy...especially McCain who looks like a compassionate president pretending he'll guide people through this non existent storm devastation with government aid and it also makes ensures Bush & Cheney won't speak at his convention...A well planned Rove maneuver except the storm petered out....but that won't stop everyone including the media from pretending it's bigger than it is...they all have to save face!

Texas and his big, swaggering ego fell for it hook, line and moose gun.
