1. I'm not sure what to make of this |
|
it is being reported that the McCain campaign KNEW about bristol's pregnancy last week - before announcing fluffy as VP
since the announcement on Friday - the internet rumors regarding fluffy's baby have been flying.
this means 3 days of rumors spreading and questions.....
now to quell those rumors, they announce bristol's pregnancy.
ok - so here's my puzzlement - mccain knew prior to tapping fluffy, why did they keep it quiet and allow the rumors to spread? or did mccain really know prior to tapping fluffy and are now in major damage control?

2. I don;t think he knew.. he only met her once |
|
and talked to her once (the time he ASKED her to the prom)..
she may have thought he knew, but I doubt she volunteered it..
This, today, is CYA²

4. the question now becomes one of judgement and competency |
|
while I understand bristol's pregnancy is a family matter - when you are on the campaign trail, good luck in keeping anything private.
if mccain knew, they screwed up by letting internet rumors fester and grow
if mccain didn't know, what does that say about his judgement in picking people to vet VP candidates
either case, the entire handling reeks of incompetency

5. Will the MSM be able make this a non-issue for McCain? |
|
KO and Maddow might make it an issue of the campaign, but what about Fox, CNN, and the conservative MSNBC talking heads? It won't surprise me to see them work hard to paint a smiley face on this for Republicans, while painting the Liberal blogs, you know - the advocates for Obama, as something less than honorable for going after Palin on such a personal issue.
