many people he evacuated.

1. He's using these press conferences to boost his national status
Similar to Giuliani.

Don't be surprised if Jindal runs for president in 2012.

2. I wouldn't be surprised if McCain dumps Palin for Jindal
I was just thinking about this. His campaign strategy is to run the news cycle. They could have Palin drop out to tend to her family due to her daughter's pregnancy. With Jindal getting national exposure due to the Hurricane coverage they could swap him in instead. It gives them another gimmick to draw attention. Their whole campaign is being run like a circus side show, why not send in the clowns?

I'm
Pretty sure that he has openly stated that he did not want to be VP.

6. He did state that he didn't think he woud get the nod.
However, he didn't give the ultimatum, "I won't serve if asked." Many potential VP picks give some similar answers as Jindal since it sounds humble. The Times-Picayune thought it left an opening. With the meltdown of her candidacy, Jindal, Romney, Portman, Pawlenty, and Crist are probably back in the running again.

4. Give credit where credit is due... Jindal and everyone else
associated with the planning for a disaster did a good job this time. If they want to crow a little then let them. Better that than the clusterfuck in 2005.

5. Then the credit goes to Katrina. That's the reason people left. Nothing to do with Jindal
