To women who think Roe vs Wade doesn't matter |
|
The Palins are a poster family for what life is like when abortion is illegal. Pregnancy happens when you least expect it. The Palins are fortunate to have the resources to make these new children part of their lives. But in the world they want to have, your family could be like theirs only without the six figure incomes.
This is important because a lot of the pitch the Republicans are making to female swing voters is that Roe vs. Wade isn't that important, won't really be overturned, older women don't need to worry about etc. The Palins are a reminder of why it is so important to retain a woman's right to choose.

She is a dominionist, and wants our law replaced with biblical law. She will get it banned nationally.

Like Stewart said - they love America but hate half of the people in it.

2. Not to mention the fact that it will be the poor who will not have access to abortions.. |

and will be forced to either have the child or undergo an illegal abortion, with all its attendant risks. There is no up side to making abortions illegal.

from Roe vs. Wade at protests, fundraisers or volunteering for group activities. So, maybe if it's not a fighting issue anymore, well then, why fight for it? I'll forfeit it to take wind out of the wind bag whiners on the right. Let them deal with the new health crisis they create.

don't all have the luxury you apparently have of getting time off work and family responsibilities to attend protests, they don't all have transportation or leisure time to get to protests, and if they are doing any "fund-raising" it's often trying to raise funds so they don't lose their house and their family doesn't go hungry.
Your post makes you sound out of touch with the lives of women living in poverty. This is a classic example of why some feminists are fed up with the "upper-middle-class-white-woman" style of feminism that doesn't acknowledge the real struggles of women of color, women in poverty, basically women who are still finding it a full-time endeavor just to survive.

7. And let's not forget, if elected Palin would work to ban birth control too |
|
Bush** is already trying to sneak this through the back door: ban the pill and the UID, because conservatives believe these are forms of abortion!
So many women would find themselves a) without reliable birth control, b) without access to legal abortion and c) without the income to support a large family.
