Why Sarah Palin's Daughter's Pregnancy Matters |
|
Edited on Mon Sep-01-08 04:29 PM by louis c
My heart goes out to any family that has an internal crisis or problem that must be resolved or tended to. Maybe Sarah should rethink McCain's slogan of "Country First" and think of "Family First."
But on the issues that matter to Americans, Sarah's positions will have tremendous clout, especially if she becomes VP, or, heaven forbid, President.
You see, Sarah Palin does not believe in Public Education. In fact, she favors Home Schooling over private education.
She also believes that abstinence only should be taught as part of a sex eduction curriculum.
Well Sarah, your theory has failed, and we don't want your theories put into practice so you can harm our kids.
She also believes that creationism should be taught alongside evolution, as though they were of equal credit. Maybe we should teach that the world is flat alongside the accepted theory of the universe. After all, it makes just as much sense.
This, along with her involvement in the firing of the commissioner who refused to fire her trooper brother-in-law during her sister's divorce and custody battle, proves she lacks the judgment and temperament to handle these high offices.
The Palin choice is dangerous, and proves that John McCain, who knew many months ago that he had the Republican nomination wrapped up, does not have the judgment to lead this country, and the Palin choice proves it.

3. Palin's daughter's pregnancy - pregnancies.... |
|
You saw Obama... he said none of his supporters will attack families or children... they're off limits.
There are many reasons to question McCain's judgement without ever mentioning pregnancies...
For my part, a 17 year old child is not old enough to parent. Her parents and the parents of the father of her child absolutely MUST step up to the plate.
Its not an enviable position...
Plenty of things to talk about McCain's judgement and Palin's that have nothing to do with pregnancies.
Obama said back off... and you need to back off.

4. I respect your opinion |
|
but when folks put family values at the point of their qualifications, they become fodder for debate.
This is a difficult situation that the Palin's are in. However, if their policies were enacted and made law, a lot of people would be in the same spot, and not voluntarily.

6. They already did once, |
|
and that's likely why she has decided to marry this time, to keep her mother's paws off of her child.

5. And why it DOES NOT matter. It's anecdotal. |
|
Stick to the science, certainly not the preaching.
If you want to quote statistics on home schooling, private education, abstinence only, go right ahead. BE CAREFUL that you do not cross into even relaying it to a specific individual with so much as an context, eyeroll or flinch.
If you're not that good, that exceptionally good, STFU.
Whether that family decided upon their actions in bringing up a child with or in spite of statistics is that private family's decision. How they would move to enforce that in our nation, is our area.
How they do that in their family is their area, and it DOES NOT MATTER to us.

7. Palin can set policy in |
|
Alaska. She could do it in America. It does not work.
she can do what she wants with her own kid, but the hypocrite wants to tell me what to do with mine.
That's the point, and it's not anecdotal.

8. I hear you. But, it should be done in a non-personal way. |
|
Especially during the election.
Even when she declares she wants to tell us what to do. Coming close to the situation hits even harder than hitting the situation head on.
It will prove interesting.
