Here's what just happened on CNN (Gustav, the RNC, Laura Bush)
Wolf Blitzer had the president of Plaquemines Parish on the line who said one of the NOLA levees was going to collapse at any moment.

CNN cut him off and went to Laura Bush's RNC speech.

Back to Wolf, who asked the Plaquemines Parish guy to continue.

Silence. Dead air.

This is exactly what the RNC was trying to avoid when they canceled Bush and Cheney.

1. UPDATE
Wolf got the NOLA guy back on the line, then cut him off AGAIN to go to Cindy McCain at the RNC.

4. I think CNN had the lead story on the line, and lost it by cutting away to
warm, dry Republicans.

The RNC really blew it by not rescheduling. Now, they have half a convention and they're still stepping on the real news.

8. CNN seven second delay

The caller probably told Wolfie to go Cheney himself.

9. As much as I would like to see the ReThugs drown
in the consequences of their own ineptitude, I sincerely hope for the sake of so many innocent people that those levees hold. ReThugs just make me want to puke. I'd say what I really want here, but if I did it'd get deleted. What a bunch of bastards - the ReThugs; not the mods. }(
