Gustav not bad enought to give the Republicans the Katrina Mulligan they needed.. |
|
The Republicans were just hoping and praying that Gustav would give them the chance for the "Mulligan" (do over) they needed for screwing up in Hurricane Katrina.
Unfortunately it looks like Mother Nature got the last laugh.
Gustav apparently will not be Katrina II.
By fizzling down to a Category II hurricane, it has deprived the Bush administration of a chance to show that "practice makes perfect" and that they finally got it right.
Unfortuntately, all it will do is remind everyone of how they screwed up Katrina.
They had hoped to turn the GOP convention into a hurricane telethon but now it appears there will be no need - so they've gambled and lost and screwed up their convention too.
The only coverage out of the convention now seems to be war protestors and just how ludicrous a pick IS Governor Palin anyways?
There is a perfect storm going on all right but it appears to be in Minneapolis, not New Orleans.
