Debbie Wasserman Schultz undermines FL candidate Taddeo, fails to mention her name.
Debbie Wasserman Schultz is the head of the DCCC's Red to Blue program for getting candidates elected. There are 3 good Democratic candidates in South Florida this time. She has donated to two of them, and for some reason she is undermining the third one.

That is how they do it in Florida. They just ignore you unless you are the selected one for that district.

Hat tip to Ybor City Stogie blog...back after a long vacation.

Man, Debbie Wasserman Schultz never seems to miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity. A busy bee at Monday morning's breakfast for the Florida delegation to the Democratic National Convention, she nonetheless made a glaring omission...

Here is more on the topic of what Debbie WS did. She should be ashamed. She has not donated to Taddeo, and in this case she mentioned the other candidates and omitted Taddeo's name.

FL-18: DWS Undermines Taddeo to Florida Delegates

Man, Debbie Wasserman Schultz never seems to miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity. A busy bee at Monday morning's breakfast for the Florida delegation to the Democratic National Convention, she nonetheless made a glaring omission:

"I’ve given 2,500 dollars to Joe Garcia, 5,000 dollars to Raul Martinez. I will be involved in their campaigns and supportive of them," said Wasserman Schultz. "I haven't been asked to be an attack dog. I am supporting Raul Martinez and Joe Garcia, and I’m looking forward to their successful election on Nov. 4."

Kossacks know exactly what I'm talking about: Deb forgot to mention progressive fighter Annette Taddeo, running for Congress in Florida's 18th congressional district. Now, I'm thrilled that DWS has changed her tune and is openly backing Garcia and Martinez.(Remember, she previously tried to recuse herself from these races, despite being co-chair of the DCCC's Red to Blue program.)

This has long been a pattern of both Wasserman Schulz and Kendrick Meek, another South Florida Democrat. They did not want to antagonize their GOP buddies here.

Wasserman Schultz and Kendrick Meek...you reap what you sow when you don't support your own.

Months later (at the end of June), Debbie finally put some of her money where her mouth wasn't: On the very same day, she gave $2,500 apiece to Martinez and Garcia. But not Taddeo. While this might not seem like a huge amount in the scheme of things, this particular $2,500 matters a lot. DWS is a very high-profile member of Congress, and she's the front-runner - if not heir-apparent - to head the DCCC next cycle. When she helps a candidate, that sends a signal to other members, PACs, labor unions, and wealthy donors: this is a candidate you should get behind.

Which is why it's up to us to stand up for a strong progressive like Annette Taddeo and send that message if Debbie won't. Taking on an incumbent Republican in a red district is always an uphill battle, and this race is no different. But if the progressive movement stands for anything, it's the principle that Democrats must never leave a worthy fellow Democrat behind.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz says, "I can't say enough good things about Ileana Ros-Lehtinen; she has been my friend since I was first elected to office." The netroots say, "Progressives will be lucky to have a friend like Annette Taddeo in Congress.

Florida Democrats are just different anyway. They are giving Annette Taddeo the same treatment they gave David Lutrin in FL 16 and Jan Schneider in FL 13. They just pretended they did not even exist. The powers that be picked their own choices.

To top it all off we have the vice chair of the Florida Democratic Party in a huff over the primaries still and calling for the ouster of Howard Dean

Glad to see Biden is coming here this week, and Lincoln Chafee as well for Obama. So some good things happen.

1. Li'l Miss Debbie is not going to support any candidate that might
challenge Li'l Miss Debbie leadership role and the chance to run for Martinez's Senate seat. That is why she is in with the big Cuban Republican PACs. I'll vote for her for senate when Hell freezes over.

6. Do you think Sink might run for governor?

3. Kendrick Meek did donate to Taddeo.
"Fortunately, another Florida congressman who had previous been reluctant to get involved, Rep. Kendrick Meek, has changed his tune - he gave $2000 to Taddeo and has pledged to raise more. That sends all the right messages. And it's not too late for Debbie to follow suit. But I think she'll need some more nudging."

From the Kos post.

4. DKos covers this story extensively
every couple of days.

DWS is a real piece of work and should be removed from that project. Annette Taddeo is a true progressive and should be given total support.

5. She is supposed to be DCCC chair next year.
She often will take a stand that I agree with, she used to do it more often. But the prevailing attitude has been for the party leaders to pick those who run and ignore the others. In fact I had a long chat with the state chair once when she was urging behind the scenes for primaries to end here. They want to pick someone and have no more discussion.

7. Debbie was even busier at the convention than we realized.
She was letting it be known who was a viable candidate and who was not.

Wasserman Schultz chastises FL Dem candidate for talking populist

From Doug Tudor, running against Adam Putnam in FL 12..

"When I met her in Denver, she immediately told me that she couldn’t support me, saying I hadn’t raised enough money. I told her that I had raised $100K, that I was a military retiree, that my family is living on my wife’s Air Force E6 pay, and that I wasn’t able like other “viable” candidates to drop a quarter of a million dollars into my own campaign. I then told her, “Congresswoman, I am one of those working-class guys that our party claims to represent.” Her response was “Don’t pull that populist stuff with me.” I thanked her for her time."
