Protecting the internet. A DU necessity.

DU, and other sites like DU, have been and continue to be the only fora for progressives to come together and effect change. I often fear that without DU I would lose my mind. Recently I have thought about the fact that if access to these fora were limited in any way, we would have much less impact on those that wish to ruin this country. My concerns are that somewhere buried in some piece of legislation would be some type of scary little posit that would begin to chip away at our rights concerning the internet (if this has not already started). So, I guess that this is a question. Do we need a forum here where we are actively making sure that this is not happening, or if it is, that we are doing all we can to protect the only real media that exists today? Does a topic forum already exist here where this is discussed?
