Palin and her family are not in anyway used to the media storm swirling around
them. Obama's been taking it for over a year. Biden for much longer than that. McCain weathered his own scandals. Palin and family are getting hit by it with no prior experience at all. People under the kind of pressure she's under, crack. Families crack. It takes experience to emerge unscathed from such a media storm. That or an almost unheard of natural political skill.

I don't think she's got it.

3. She's not equipped to deal with this storm.
that was the huge risk McCainiac took in putting someone with so little campaign experience on the ticket.

10. LOL, you amuse me
"Stick to the issues. Let the people know that we want to take most of their hard earned money and give it to the poor, we want to take their guns away from them in order to save their children.

Try harder. Seriously. That is just sad.

21. Damned right. She shouldn't have signed them up for this if they're too unprepared.
Harry Truman tried to warn them to "STAY OUT OF THE KITCHEN IF YOU CAN'T STAND THE HEAT."

16. The Audacity Of Audaciousness
Edited on Tue Sep-02-08 06:45 AM by KharmaTrain
When was the last time a GOOPer was put under close media scrutiny? Maybe Nixon. Maybe Quayle...and both of those in the end didn't hurt this corrupt party for its short-term objectives of winning at all costs. Most scandals were quickly papered over or buried. This is especially the case with Camp Gramps. He's gotten a pass on his flip-flops, temper, poor judgement...his over all opportunism cause the corporate media felt he was one of them...and he was foolish enough to think he had them in his pocket.

From what we've been reading the Palins also were darlings of the Alaskan media and, specifically, hate radio...they thought that IOKIYAR...but this is a bridge to nowhere too far. You can abuse power, lie and be a totaly hypocrite, but don't ever try to hide a sex scandal. This is them falling on their own petard.

Palin is truly Bambi in the headlights now...and at the worst possible time. She won't be able to escape this scandal, of all of them, as nothing draws the media swarm than a good sex scandal and how this campaign, not just Palin, are unprepared for being on the other side of a feeding frenzy. Now she's become the focus of this convention and her name and sex are linked...it's gonna be another death by 1,000 cuts.

Democrats, have been shell-shocked by these swarms...and why, IMHO, some were skittish about "making hay" of this scandal, but this was just too juicy for the corporate media to resist. The fact Camp Gramps is gonna try to fight this and already has its spinners out there trying to put perfume on this turd shows how they all think they can bullshit their way out of this. Well, the blogosphere, our blogosphere, finally brought a gun to this fight and I, for one, hope more digging is done. This is bloodsport and, while the Democratic party still doesn't know how to play it, many here are ready to "bring 'em on."

It couldn't happen to a better bunch of goons.

17. Abramoff. Cunningham, the FL gay congressman with the pages
Stevens. The repukes lost 2006 in part because of scandals that the MSM chewed on. Yes, the MSM is a fucking biased disgrace, but they do love scandal.

19. Bad Apples I Tell Ya
The fact Stevens is still on the ballot shows that IOKIYAR. There's no way any Democrat under indictment could surive...but he's just a "bad apple"...as was Foley, Cunningham, Foley, Ney, Vitter, Craig...look at how many have really skated here. It's about time their politics of destruction blew up in their hypocritical faces.

:hi:

20. Know who else is still on the ballot? The Louisiana Congressman who put
big bucks from a payoff in his freezer. And I gotta say that I'm delighted Stevens is such a stubborn old coot. You can't really believe the repukes wanted him as their candidate this year. Same with Craig. Foley, Ney, Cunningham, Delay- all went down. Craig is a pariah in the repuke party and won't be re-elected. The only one who skated is Vitter. Fortunately their hypocrisy has been blowing up in their faces- and is continuing to do so. Btw, there are even more repukes who have resigned/been beaten in the last couple of years. The reps in PA, NY and Arizona.

25. It's Made Us A Stronger Party
I might as well find something positive here. All these attacks have made the Democrats a lot more careful and steeled to which candidates are vetted and run. The Edwards situation shows how little tolerance many have with any taint of scandal...especially if proven, and he was sent to the hinterlands (sadly so has Elizabeth). Too bad Jefferson hangs on, but he's become a paraiah in the party...stripped of most of his power. That sure isn't the case on the GOOP side and the more they try to defend Palin now, the worse it will get...a self-inflicted wound for self interest and now other skeletons in her closet are seeing the light. What's amazing is only 5 days ago no one knew who Granny was, now she's the poster girl for this party's total incompetence and arrogance.

Yep...we still have Rick Renzi under indictment as well...Doolittle, Weldon and Don Young. And these are the ones who were so stupid and arrogant they got caught. The shame is the biggest criminals...war criminals...still remain in power, but maybe, just maybe, the worm has finally turned here...and the future of the GOOP have never looked darker.

That corrupt party was fractured badly...as seen in the primaries and allowed Gramps to survive (like a Demolition Derby), and should this party go down to defeat in November, the knives will come out. I predicted this as far back as 2005...and, dare I say, I can't wait to see the ensuing fight for whatever "soul" is left.

I think that's the one area she'll prove to have some talent in.

Not in any other area, but ability not to "crack", I think she'll have it.

24. She is used to the Alaska press
They may ask a question or 2, and then it sort of goes away. Of course, people are still talking about it, but don't say it to her face. Welcome to the National Media and the Enquirer.

I think that the MSM are scared of the prospect of her becoming Pres., and that is why they are finally asking questions.
