CSPAN not even a peep about Amy Goodman? |
|
Edited on Tue Sep-02-08 06:43 AM by Royal Oak Rog
"Washington Journal" has not even mentioned the Amy Goodman arrest, am I correct on this? The main competitor for a so called non biased network with no ads much like "Democracy Now" has not one thing to say about a major journalism figure and their main competitor being falsely arrested? To anyone who's watching correct me if I'm wrong.

2. Her radio program isn't that widely known in the general population. |
|
Sad, but true. Her arrest wouldn't mean anything to most people.

Not popular to someone living in a sheltered network existence, but the show is plenty popular. If this site for instance were to be banned from the web for even a few days, say for the week of the Republican convention, should the censorship be mentioned on a show like "Washington Journal"? Or should they just stay mum and say it wasn't popular, and freedom of speech only counts for the network shows?

5. As someone who travels a lot, "Democracy Now" is often difficult, or impossible... |
|
to find on the radio dial. I really like the show and try to find it.
I wish they had mentioned the arrest, but it wouldn't have meant much to a viewing audience that is, on average, the oldest - over 60 - out there.

8. Um, not everyone has the time, etc. to listen to programs online. I often don't have access. |
|
It's popular with its audience, but is not widely known. A weak radio station at the end of the dial is not a good launching pad for high visibility.

12. It's World Widely known |
|
it's online, and I'm done arguing with you, but people listen to it worldwide; listen to the show on a set of "tubes" called the "Internets", search for it on "the Google" you'll find it. Regardless of that, when a journalist is beat in the street for no good reason it's news.

14. I agree it's news and I wish it had been mentioned. |
|
But DON'T assume average folks - who haven't a clue what's on at the end of the FM dial - and C-SPAN viewers who have the OLDEST average age of any television program viewers, know who she is.
Your world isn't everyone's. I wish it were, but it isn't.

I wish they had mentioned it. But she's well-known in our circles, but not that widely in the US.

about it. Remember M$M is only interested in journalists arrested in countries not favorable to 'special interests'. Amy has been a guest on their program - it is disgraceful that no serious comment has been made anywhere. This should lead the headlines on all news programs on all stations.
