Dead woman in Joe Scarborough's office.. followed by his divorce
Edited on Tue Sep-02-08 07:24 AM by SoCalDem
and immediate "retirement" from the house.... and no media coverage.. That's why he's so "confused".. The press left HIM alone, and now he does not understand why the press is so "into" Palin's story :)

Poor Joe..he doesn't understand

1. What they're not saying is that Sara Palin
had her daughter stand on that stage holding the baby with a massive blanket/towel deliberately hiding her stomach. When she was leaving, she didn't have the baby but sure sure covered her stomach with the blanket/towel. That was orchestrated deception by her mother so when McLiar says he knew in advance, the question is if they were so proud of the pregnancy why all that effort to hide it.

Children should be off limits, but when you don't practice what you preach you (the mother) are fair game.
Do not forget it was the mother who called the press conference and told everyone that her daughter was pregnant.

By the way the media and GEM$M has been playing this horse race for so long that they've exposed themselves. They mentioned her name in the race and not one of them did any investigations re the candidate.

6. "We" ? Kimosabe?
Many of us believe that personal lives and rights should be protected. These goons started using "morality" as a political weapon to win elections. They started this crap and are now swimming in their own muck...let them figure their way out of the mess they made.

9. Besides
we would just be pointing out how excrutiatingly ordinary her family is. Why go to such great lengths to show that she would probably be the absolute most middle class vice president/president we have ever had if elected? I don't see that as a winning strategy.

18. Exactly. All it does is point out
that while McCain cracks a joke about $5 million dollars a year being the defining mark for "rich", his running mate is facing absolutely typical family issues. Not a good idea to crack on one for being insensitive to middle income people and the other for being a typical middle income woman with typical middle income family problems. People are far less stupid than they are given credit for, and the disconnect will not go unnoticed. Saying it is an example of hypocrisy will not go over well either, because it is 2008 and high schoolers often get laid, I don't see a bible-thumping morality approach in mccains campaign, so using this as an example of hypocrisy is going to fall flat on its face.

The best we can do is to just let it go I think, the only tangible issue I can see is that she did appear to hide her daughters' pregnancy. It is not going to pay for us to appear petty and small in this election cycle, there are far bigger things at stake.

10. This Is Out Of Our Hands Now
Look at how many net nannies, scolds and concern trolls were so worried about bringing this story to the surface...but there was smoke and now we have a full-blown fire. None of us started this, it was the cynical pick of this woman as some paragon of family values. She was the one who invoked shattering the glass ceiling...invoking Hillary Clinton while she stood against everything Hillary and many other courageous women have fought hard for.

There are plenty of other skeletons in her closet that are coming out now...it appears this lady wasn't vetted and if the GOOP and the corporate media couldn't do it, thank goodness someone else did.

Senator Obama, rightly so, is not going to make hay of this mess...nor would I advise any other Democrat to. But I'm not a party official, nor are others here...but I am sick and tired of the double standard where Democrats are disected for every little thing they say or do, while Repugnicans destroyed this country. As the Dixie Chicks sang "I'm tired playing nice".

I'd love for this election to be focused on serious issues...Iraq, the economy, a devestated healtchare system, but those topics are "boring" to the corporate media. The GOOP has had their hypocrisies papered over for too long...this was a mess of their own making...let them wallow in their own muck.

Cheers...

24. Palin herself trotted out the pregnant daughter and
threw her under the bus. If Palin is in fact the mother of Trigg, she could produce hospital records and a birth certificate and could have kept the daughter's pregnancy under wraps. Palin doesn't give one damn about her kids and cares ONLY about her political gain. She is a despicable, pathetic excuse of a mother and she damn sure has NO business running MY Country ! Screw her and her evangelical bullshit beliefs.

3. It Addresses Judgement And Accountability
Remember who started all this crap and how "morality" has been used as a weapon by the GOOP to win elections. Yes, children and personal lives should be off limits, but that horse is long out of the barn. The politics of personal destruction has so poisoned the body politic and become the lifeblood of the corporate media, this scandal all but is a self-fulfilling prophecy now. They started this crap, now let's help them finish it.

We didn't pick Granny Palin, Gramps did...and for the most cynical reasons and it'll be interesting to see how this story plays out. Looks like Rick Davis and his merry Rovesters were desperate to get the fundie endorsement and money they really over-extended this time. If they dare to walk back this nomination now, they risk the ire of the religious right and the fall-out will go well beyond November.

Now I can't wait to see all the fun ahead today. Every GOOP mouthpiece is gonna have to defend Palin and Commander Huff'nPuff...trying to re-arrange the deck chairs on the Titanic.

16. Thank You!!!
Looking back at all that's happened, I feel many here and at DKos and other sites did one hell of a job doing what the repugnicans didn't want to and the corporate media didn't. Much of what was put out here was discussed and while we weren't 100% on this, we sure were right to bring up questions that now the media is asking.

The other day, someone directed me to a Freeper post...(and I detest citing this)

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2072796/posts

I did some vetting on my own...to see if there was something to this story, but it was so vague that there was no way I was going to post about it and discouraged others.

The qusetions raised here were with merit and now let's see how this plays out. Personally, I hope Gramps sticks with Granny...I'd love to see how they handled the media swarm of questions and the box this cynical pick has put him in.

I salute a lot of your fine posts and those of others here who exposed this and many of the other scandals in this "fresh new face"...that we knew was a desperation pick from the outset.

:patriot"

17. And where are the stories about how McCain's speech needs to bring the GOP together
where are the stories about how many GOP candidates were never planning on going to the convention?
where are the stories about how divisive McCain's pick has been? Or that Palin was a failure of choice as part of their plan to court Hillary supporters?
where are the stories questioning Palin's judgment about her high-risk pregnancy and her long trip home to give birth?
where are the stories about her involvement with the Alaskan Independence Party?
where are the stories about her bad fiscal decisions as mayor?

all in all, I cannot wait for the Palin video that introduces her to the country.

btw, I'm glad to see you posting. I worry about you whenever I hear there's a TD, TS or hurricane.

15. Poor double-standard Joe. He really shouldn't be whining.
I'd love to see a Gary Condit-style investigation into the death of Lori Klausutis.

The big story here is not the kid's pregnancy or shotgun wedding or any of that shit; it's that Palin supports what someone else here aptly called "the rapist's bill of rights" - the right to try to force a child onto any woman he chooses, and she will be FORCED to continue the genetic line of a violent criminal. THAT'S fucking scary.

22. Do you have a link to this where
I can read up on it. I vaguely remember it but was working 15-hr days at the time and never read much in the newspapers about it. I can't stand Scarborough and am interested in this incident.

Thanks !

23. All you need to do is google Lori Klausitis
You'll find thousands of hits...but very little from mainstream media who avoided it like the plague.

here was a young popular up and coming congressman, and all of a sudden he "retires"..right after she turns up dead.. he drops from sight, remarries and now he;s "Pal Joey in the AM".
