Palin is the setup to keep Cheney as Vice President. |
|
Ok. This hit me driving to work. Palin is the cutout. She's the excuse.
Last week McCone announced that he could see Cheney playing some role in a McCain administration.
But, McCain knows Cheney is about as popular as a toothache.
Enter Palin. She's pretty. She's perky. She'll look great on camera at the convention. The base will be energized as she's basically Cheney in a dress.
But..she's got baggage. Lots of it.
Her pregnant teenage daughter and Down's Syndrome son make the perfect exit to "spend more time with the family", leaving the door wide open for Cheney "a man with proven experience. A man ready on day one."
I know this is bat-shit crazy, but....

|
hell- he wasn't elected potus, but he probably has more authority in the misadministration than his 'boss'.

I just can't see the Cheney going away too fast. But on the other hand, I think Bush is bored in his role. He's just so jaded with state affairs etc. Cheney's never bothered with the trappings of the role. He just likes the bodies he can feed on.
I don't see him going away... not with that replacement thing for a heart he's got in there.

Setting the precedent once again.
Keep the public fearful and in their place.
Do not ask questions.
Go about your business.
These are not the war criminals you're looking for.

21. I didn't see any of that but I've sure seen a lot of coverage of |
|
the handful of asshole protesters...very little of the tens of thousands of peaceful marchers...nothing on Amy Goodman's arrest... I was up there all day, and my experience of the day was real different from what I'm seeing on the teevee.

The Bush dynasty will find a way. I'll bet they steered McCain right into this just so Jeb could get his foot in the door.

16. I've actually lost bets for dinner |
|
with some of my theories ( I lost one that Cheney was going to be impeached, some Repub would take his place to position said Repub for the nom in 2008. All this was supposed to be done by the middle of 2007. I was lucky. My three buddies said they would settle for a round of beers on a Friday after work).

8. ooh, that sounds creepily possible |
|
I haven't been able to imagine that Cheney would willingly pack his bags and slouch off into the sunset. He feeds on power,I don't see how he'd let the needle be removed from his vein. It's his life support, the only thing keeping him alive. So your scenario works.
Of course, Cheney would still probably be pulling the strings from off stage anyway, making his undisclosed location just a little less disclosed.

Perhaps its as one of the other poster's suggested, a way to wedge Jeb into the seat.
