Problem boy in our family. |
|
We have a family website that serves us well, as a close-knit family. But there is one jerk, who is not even a family member, he just lives with one, who is so disgusting, that I just had to share. I guess misery loves company. I was proud of a recent post by one of my daughters:
"Last night as I watched Obama's acceptance speech I had the feeling that I was witnessing someone who invoked the inspiration that JFK did and Martin Luther King did. Since that was before my time I had to ask those who remember if you felt that same way? I thought all of the speeches given were amazing and each one better than the previous but Obama's speech left me in awe. I had Ava watch it with us because I know that this will be one of those memories that she will want to remember. She being an innocent kid cannot understand really why it is historic that a black man is being a party nominee. I can't wait until November!"
Yep, that made old Dad proud, but look what this asshole responded with:
"An ordinary politician with an extraordinary teleprompter.
No comparison whatsoever with Dr. King's address, which I watched on TV as a kid."
Real nice, huh? We are trying to teach our children well, and we have this shithead in our midst. He has been a polical embarassment for the family member he lives with, but I guess she loves him. How? I don't know.

1. Don't you ever ask them why. |
|
If they told you, you would cry.

2. Frankly, that is a lot more tame than I expected, given the first paragraph. |

4. I am very close to writing off some friends and family members this time around |

I have had it with their uniformed, racist, kool-aid drinking drivel. There is so much at stake, not only nationally, but here in FL (and CA) where antimarriage amendments are on the ballot.
This time it's personal, and I have had it with these people.

Since you don't document the "uniformed, racist, kool-aid drinking drivel" I assume you are comparing the opinion stated in the OP with your experience?
I did not read any of that into the "problem boy's" opinion.

Your lashing out at him is way over the top and unwarranted.

Then why was this "problem boy" not taught to keep his opinions to himself?
"An ordinary politician with an extraordinary teleprompter. No comparison whatsoever with Dr. King's address, which I watched on TV as a kid."
The "problem boy" could have just said nothing but then nobody would have known to educate him that maybe MLK had a teleprompter and maybe Obama did not have one.
Both were great speeches but if a "problem boy" is going to have the wrong opinion that they may not be equal (or Obama's was better?), then maybe some more education is in order?
