Jindal had the full (and scared shitless for their political lives) resources of the federal government at his fingertips for Gustav.

Gustav was NO Katrina, by any stretch of the imagination.

The 4 hurricanes that Jeb and Brownie, handled, were no Katrina (all four combined X 10 were still no Katrina).

As Brown pointed out last night, thye 4 FL hurricanes the year before were under the previous Homeland Security head Tom Ridge, who had a MUCH more hands off approach and let the professionals in FEMA (Brownie notwithstanding)make all the decisions.

The "infighting" between Blanco, Nagin (and the feds, as Joe dropped in as an afterthought) was primarily between BUSH and Blanco, and this "infighting" alone, in my mind, is enough to get Bush impeached.

He resisted providing requested aid in the form of troops (which was needed on Day One) because Blanco wouldn't sign over control of the state NG to him. He FAILED to provide immediate support in the form of rescue and supplies, which he couyld have done had he had a halfway competent head of Homeland Security and had been halfway competent himself (Six Words: Incident of National Significance ---> Catastrophic Incident Annex).
