"We are proud of Bristol's decision"
I think the wording here is very important. They acknowledge that Bristol made a "decision" to have the baby. Yet they don't want any other woman to have the right to actually make a decision--

"We have been blessed with five wonderful children who we love with all our heart and mean everything to us. Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned. We're proud of Bristol's decision to have her baby and even prouder to become grandparents. As Bristol faces the responsibilities of adulthood, she knows she has our unconditional love and support.

"Bristol and the young man she will marry are going to realize very quickly the difficulties of raising a child, which is why they will have the love and support of our entire family. We ask the media to respect our daughter and Levi's privacy as has always been the tradition of children of candidates."

Governor Palin, you stated that you are proud of Bristol's decision to have the baby. Wouldn't you want other people in your situation the right to take pride in their children's ability to make a similar decision , or should the state make that decision FOR them?

3. I picked up on that too
Like she had a decision to make once Mommy Dearest found out. I think she just got out that gun that she hunts Moose with and went to talk with the 'Baby Daddy'

5. No more odd than terminating a pregnancy.
It's nice that she has the option to choose one or the other, and the support of her well-to-do family.

It would be nice for every woman to have the same options, including the option not to carry an unwanted pregnancy to term, as well as access to the best prenatal care, and a support system for mother and child once the child is born. Is that too much to ask? Apparently Ms. Palin thinks it is, and that is the problem.
