Poll question: Who is going to replace Palin?
Edited on Tue Sep-02-08 01:09 PM by PelosiFan
My guess is that they're going to try to stop the bleeding and bail on trying to grab women's votes. They'll go for Jewish votes instead. Can't wait to see the mess they make next. This is entertaining.

1. My hunch is that several possible noms turned McCain down.
How about Ron Paul?

He's in town in Minneapolis and could swing over and just whip up a quick acceptance speech and off the two mavericks go.

5. Yeah, they do risk their evangelical target audience sitting out the election
That wouldn't be good for them.

23. Maybe not. This might be a way for the GOP to tell the fundies ...
... to back off.

"Gee, look, fellahs, the electorate is up in arms! You'll have to go in hiding again."

3. Don't bet on her being replaced
If she's so popular with the rightwingnut fundies, McLame is going to keep her, believing that he's won their total support.

He's a stubborn sonofabitch, and he doesn't strike me as the kind of man who would ever admit to making a mistake.

7. He'd never admit a mistake, per Rove, NEVER.
Edited on Tue Sep-02-08 01:20 PM by disgruntled98
No indeed. Rove's "wisdom" his one mantra is no matter how guilty you are or how badly you fuck up, never admit it.

Some animals don't chew off their leg to get out of the trap.

8. I fully expect it to be her pulling out, not him admitting anything.
She will pull out for obvious personal/family reasons. Easy out.

27. People like he and bush think that admitting to a mistake weakens them...
I don't think she'll be replaced...

unless they found a video of her snorting cocaine at a NRA meetup.

12. Nope
Once the bible thumpers hear about Jindal's "adventures in Exorcism", they'll bolt from the ticket so fast it'll leave skid marks.

She did a fine job of 'scrubbing' Junior's records of everything negative, and look where he is today. :hi:

10. Condi would've been the best choice the first time around
Sure, she's no sexy librarian, and she may be incapable of understanding the import of obvious documents like "Bin Laden Determined to Strike in U.S," but she kills two demographic birds, has actual foreign policy experience, and is already part of the Bush Cabal, so the crooks in power can breathe a little easier.

25. probably no one, but definitely not Joe
The repubs will circle the wagons and I doubt seriously that Palin will leave the ticket. If she does, it will not be for another week or two and her replacement will under no circumstances be joe l, since doing so would cause the repub right that just got orgasmic over Palin to implode over a basically pro-choice vp candidate.

30. I'm surprised people think it will be Loserman.
Isn't the only thing that Palin has going for her (besides her vagina, which isn't doing the job the rightwing had anticipated) is that she's a freaky hardright Xtian nutjob, which appeals to the Dobson gang of the party.

The rabid "base" will flip if it's a pro-choice Jewish guy, no?

32. If you wanted to shut up the rabid wingers, this would be the way to do it.
They're never going to vote for Obama, but the failed Palin nom might shut them up long enough to get Loserman through November.

34. I doubt the rabid base would flip, but they might stay home.
So, yeah, it's a risk. They really need to crunch the numbers on this one to find out which wedge issue is the one that will attract the most voters.

So, then, maybe Huckabee...

33. I say Jindal, too
He's a male Palin with actual experience. And the fundies won't care about the exorcism because he supports teaching creationism in school.
