Anyone else realize the ultimate goal of the Sarah Palin exercise? |
|
It's so the GOP can get their greedy fucking hands on the one thing they have been eyeing the entire time Bush was in office: ANWR.
Why else would McCain nominate a one-time, completely oblivious, fundamentalist conservative Christian governor of FUCKING ALASKA as the VP nominee?

2. um, how does this help them get their hands on ANWR? She's the governor |
|
not the potentate. McCain picked Palin because he thought he could both solidify his base and sell her as a "maverick reformer" to independents, and cast a net for women, particularly disaffected Hillary supports. He was spectacularly wrong.

I think the whole Palin thing shows that Mccain does not enjoy (or perhaps does not seek to enjoy) the sort of straighjacket control that GWB has had on the press during so much of his tenure. Mccain couldn´t keep this little tidbit out of the news? Hell, Junior had all of his records as governor of Texas put under lock and key, managed to keep the Guckert/Gannon fiasco out of the news, had people expunge his long record of drinking and drugging, and made damn sure no one found out that Laura crashed into her prom date. By letting this make the news and fessing up quickly, I think Palin has shown a human quality rarely seen in republican candidates. I may hate her politics, but I won't spend too much time trashing her on this grannygate thing.
