13. "She wants the destiny fulfilled for the State of Alaska"?

WTF?

I know their version of the "destiny" of everyplace else.

"What's going on in the State of Alaska?"... and "where you Master's Commission students are going"

The whole "I feel things are happening" routine is a set piece of these performances.

"ALASKA IS ONE OF THE REFUGE STATES OF THE LAST DAYS!"

These people need to be kept away from the nuclear arsenal of the United States of America.

17. Au Contraire!
Fundamentalists are very, very predictable. Speaking as an ex-fundamentalist I can say with confidence that nothing Sarah Palin said, for instance, in that video was the least bit surprising.

If you understand the mindset of the fundamentalist and where he/she gets their "marching orders" you can easily predict what they will do. They don't think for themselves but instead rely upon a fixed interpretation of scripture, typically by their leader (a pastor, generally). Fundamentalists are pretty uniform in their beliefs with the variations stemming from just how fundamental they wish to get. The Baptist church where I spent a lot of time permitted women to wear make-up, have short hair and gainful employment. I've been to so-called "Hard shell" Baptist churches that forbid all of the aforementioned and also engage in foot washing and anointing with oil. But on issues like abortion or gay rights they are all in rigid lockstep.

Sarah Palin is almost a dream come true. If she were Mike Huckabee then they'd really be happy.

oil, natural gas, gold, oh and people. No mention of the beautiful forests, magnificent mountains, rivers, lakes, glaciers, and numerous animal species. This woman doesn't deserve to be governor of such an American treasure. She doesn't appreciate it, and is intent on destroying what makes it great.

I've always wondered if those in power in churches like that actually believe any of it or if they're just used to the vocabulary.
