Offering no evidence, NY Times' Brooks claimed Palin "pretty progressive on gay and lesbian issues," "talks about global warming quite a lot"

Summary: New York Times columnist David Brooks asserted of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin: "She's evangelical, but she's pretty progressive on gay and lesbian issues. She's for drilling in ANWR , but she talks about global warming quite a lot." But Palin has reportedly said of global warming, "I'm not one though who would attribute it to being man-made," a position at odds with findings by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change; she has also reportedly opposed giving spousal benefits to same-sex partners of public employees.

9. Bullshit is right as the way I remember it and I will have to see if I could find it again,
this woman was a fundraiser for Pat Buchanan when he ran for president; he talked about it after she was picked on Morning Joe. He knows her naturally. Somewhere else she holds views similar to him and they are not Progressive views about gays. I thought they were rather extreme like Buchanan. I will look again. Somebody else might remember that conversation and the info about her.

4. Presumably, he did his research using the...
..."Madeupinmyownheadopedia," which seems to be the source of choice for Republicans and their tame poodles.

7. Not according to her questionnaire responses:
Palin Opposed Supreme Court Ruling Giving Same-Sex Couples Benefits.

Asked if she would support the Alaska Supreme Court’s ruling that spousal benefits for state employees should be given to same-sex couples, Palin responded, “No, I believe spousal benefits are reserved for married citizens as defined in our constitution.”

Palin Opposed Expanding Hate Crimes Laws.

Asked if she would support an effort to expand hatecrime laws, Palin responded, “No, as I believe all heinous crime is based on hate.”

Palin Said She Supported Ban on Gay Marriage and Denying Benefits to Gay Couples.

“Palin said she’s not out to judge anyone and has good friends who are gay, but that she supported the 1998
constitutional amendment . Elected officials can’t defy the court when it comes to
how rights are applied, she said, but she would support a ballot question that would deny benefits to
homosexual couples. ‘I believe that honoring the family structure is that important,’ Palin said. She said
she doesn’t know if people choose to be gay.”

Palin Said She Supported a Constitutional Amendment Overturning Supreme Court Mandate of
Benefits for Same-Sex Couples.

Asked if she would support a Constitutional amendment to overturn the Alaska Supreme Court decision mandating public employers to provide benefits equivalent to same-sex couples, Sarah Palin responded “yes.”

that this right-wing nut job is anything but a typical republican hate-monger. Hell, even James Dobson said he's voting for McPOW no that she's on the ticket. 'nuff said.

15. Impossible
If you want to make a pentacostal froth at the mouth, raise gay issues or global warming. They'll spout Leviticus and Genesis until they're voice gives out.
